2. Setup and Installation
2.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove all packaging materials, including the transport bolts located at the rear of the machine. Keep the packaging for future transport if needed. Failure to remove transport bolts can cause severe vibration and damage during operation.
2.2 Placement
Place the washing machine on a firm, level surface. Ensure there is adequate space around the appliance for ventilation and maintenance. The dimensions of the appliance are approximately 60 cm (width) x 85 cm (height) x 55 cm (depth).
2.3 Water Connection
Connect the inlet hose to a cold water tap with a 3/4-inch thread. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks. Do not use old hoses; always use the new hoses supplied with the appliance.
2.4 Drainage
Position the drain hose into a standpipe or over the edge of a sink, ensuring it is securely fastened to prevent displacement during the wash cycle. The drain hose should be positioned at a height between 60 cm and 90 cm from the floor.
2.5 Power Connection
Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the voltage and frequency match the specifications on the appliance's rating label.
2.6 Leveling the Appliance
Adjust the leveling feet at the bottom of the washing machine until the appliance is perfectly stable and level. Use a spirit level to verify. A properly leveled machine reduces vibration and noise during operation.
2.7 First Wash Cycle
Before washing clothes, run an empty wash cycle (e.g., a quick wash program) with a small amount of detergent to clean the drum and remove any manufacturing residues.
3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Control Panel Overview
The control panel typically consists of a program selector dial, a display screen, and various buttons for options such as temperature, spin speed, and special functions. Refer to the diagram in your quick start guide for specific button layouts.
3.2 Loading Laundry
Open the door and load your laundry into the drum. Do not overload the machine; leave enough space for clothes to tumble freely. Close the door firmly.
3.3 Adding Detergent and Additives
Pull out the detergent drawer. Add the appropriate amount of detergent to the main wash compartment. If using fabric softener or pre-wash detergent, add them to their respective compartments. Close the drawer gently.
3.4 Program Selection
Turn the program selector dial to choose the desired wash program based on the fabric type and soil level. Common programs include Cotton, Synthetics, Delicates, Wool, Quick Wash, and Eco Cotton.
3.5 Special Functions
- EcoBubble: This function is often integrated into various programs. It generates bubbles to enhance cleaning performance, especially at lower temperatures.
- Steam Wash: Select a program that includes the Steam Wash option for hygienic cleaning. This feature helps remove stubborn dirt, bacteria, and allergens.

- Smacchia Tutto Plus (Stain Away): Activate this option to add an active foam soak phase, which helps in removing tough stains.

4. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your washing machine.
4.1 Cleaning the Exterior
Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
4.2 Cleaning the Detergent Drawer
Periodically remove the detergent drawer and rinse it under running water to remove any detergent residue. Use a brush to clean stubborn buildup. Reinsert the drawer.
4.3 Cleaning the Diamond Drum
Run a 'Drum Clean' or 'Eco Drum Clean' cycle (if available) regularly to prevent mold and odor buildup. If not available, run a hot wash cycle with no laundry and a small amount of detergent or a specialized washing machine cleaner.

Figure 4: The Diamond Drum design is gentle on fabrics.
4.4 Cleaning the Drain Filter
Locate the drain filter cover at the bottom front of the machine. Open the cover, place a shallow container underneath to catch water, and slowly unscrew the filter. Remove any lint, debris, or foreign objects. Clean the filter under running water and screw it back in securely. Close the cover.
4.5 Winterization (if applicable)
If the machine is to be left in an unheated area during winter, drain all water from the hoses and pump to prevent freezing and damage. Consult a service technician if unsure.
5. Troubleshooting
Before contacting service, try the following solutions for common issues:
