Safety Information
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons, observe the following:
- Installation and electrical connections must be performed by qualified personnel in accordance with all applicable codes and standards.
- Do not operate the heater unless the guard is securely in place.
- Ensure the heater is always operated with the specified sauna rocks.
- Maintain specified clearances from combustible materials as indicated in the installation diagrams.
- Never place clothing or other items on the heater.
- Use caution when pouring water on hot rocks; steam can cause burns.
- Keep children and pets away from the heater.
Setup and Installation
The Amerec Designer B Sauna Heater requires professional installation due to its electrical requirements (240 Volt/Single Phase). Ensure your sauna space is adequately sized for the heater's output (4.5 KW) to achieve desired temperatures efficiently.
Rock Placement
Carefully place the provided Vulcanite rocks into the heater's rock compartment. Ensure rocks are loosely packed to allow for proper air circulation and efficient heating. Do not overfill the compartment.

Electrical Connection
This unit operates on 240 Volt/Single Phase power. All electrical wiring must comply with local and national electrical codes. Consult a certified electrician for proper installation.
Operating Instructions
The Amerec Designer B Sauna Heater features built-in controls for heat and timer settings.
Control Panel
Locate the control panel on the lower front of the heater. It consists of two rotary dials: one for heat control (temperature) and one for the timer.

Setting the Temperature
- Turn the Heat Control dial clockwise to your desired temperature setting. The dial typically ranges from a lower setting to a higher setting (e.g., 1-9 or Celsius/Fahrenheit markings).
- The heater will begin to warm up. Depending on the sauna size and desired temperature, it may take approximately 20-30 minutes to reach optimal heat.
Setting the Timer
- Turn the Timer dial to the desired operating duration. The dial typically has markings for hours (e.g., 1-9 hours).
- The heater will operate for the set duration and then automatically turn off.
- To turn off the heater manually, turn the Timer dial to the "OFF" position.
Using Water on Rocks
For a traditional sauna experience, a small amount of water can be carefully ladled onto the hot Vulcanite rocks to create steam and increase humidity. Use only clean water. Do not pour excessive amounts of water at once, as this can damage the heating elements or cause scalding steam. Always consult the specific water usage guidelines in the full manufacturer's manual for your model.
Maintenance
Cleaning
- Ensure the heater is completely cool and disconnected from power before cleaning.
- Wipe the exterior surfaces with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Periodically remove the rocks and clean out any debris or mineral deposits from the rock compartment.
Rock Inspection and Replacement
Inspect the Vulcanite rocks regularly for signs of crumbling or deterioration. Over time, rocks can break down, affecting heating efficiency and potentially damaging elements. Replace any broken or worn-out rocks with genuine Amerec sauna rocks.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Heater does not turn on. | No power, timer not set, circuit breaker tripped. | Check power supply, ensure timer is "ON" and set, reset circuit breaker. Consult an electrician if issues persist. |
| Heater not reaching desired temperature. | Incorrect temperature setting, sauna room too large, poor insulation, worn-out rocks. | Adjust heat control, ensure sauna room size matches heater capacity, check insulation, inspect and replace rocks if necessary. |
| Heater turns off prematurely. | Timer expired, overheating protection activated. | Check timer setting. If overheating, allow heater to cool down, check for obstructions, and ensure proper ventilation. |
