Note: Avoid charging the stylus while your compatible device (e.g., Chromebook) is also charging, as this may interfere with stylus functionality.
Setup and First Use
The Broonel USI Stylus Pen is designed for easy setup with USI-compliant devices.
- Power On: Press and hold the middle of the function buttons for more than one second to power on the stylus. The LED indicator will briefly light up.
- Automatic Connection: The stylus should automatically connect to any USI-compliant device when brought near the screen. No manual pairing is typically required.
- Test Functionality: Open a note-taking app or drawing application on your device and test the stylus by writing or drawing on the screen.
- Power Off: To conserve battery, the stylus may automatically power off after a period of inactivity. You can also press and hold the function buttons again to manually power it off.
Compatibility: This stylus is USI (Universal Stylus Initiative) compliant and is compatible with devices that support the USI protocol, such as the Lenovo Ideapad Duet Chromebook.
Operating the Stylus
The Broonel USI Stylus Pen offers a versatile and intuitive user experience:
- Writing and Drawing: Use the pen tip directly on your device's screen. The stylus supports 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity, allowing for varied line thickness and shading based on how hard you press.
- Function Buttons: The two side buttons typically provide additional functionality:
- Top Button: Often functions as an eraser in drawing applications or a right-click equivalent in some operating systems.
- Bottom Button: May function as a selection tool or another context-sensitive action.
- Palm Rejection: USI-compliant devices typically feature palm rejection technology, allowing you to rest your hand on the screen naturally while writing or drawing without unintended input.
Replacing Pen Tips
Over time, the pen tip may wear down. Your stylus comes with three replacement tips to ensure continued precision.

- Gently grasp the existing pen tip with your fingers or a pair of tweezers.
- Pull the tip straight out from the stylus body. Do not twist.
- Take a new replacement tip.
- Carefully insert the new tip into the stylus opening until it is firmly seated. Do not force it.
- Test the new tip on your device to ensure it is properly installed and functioning.
Maintenance and Care
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to clean the stylus body. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
- Storage: When not in use, store the stylus in a safe place to prevent damage to the tip or body. Keep the cap on the charging port when not charging.
- Avoid Extremes: Do not expose the stylus to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or high humidity.
- Dropping: Avoid dropping the stylus, as this can damage internal components or the pen tip.
