4.1. Installation

  1. Choose a Mounting Location: Select a spot on your windshield that does not obstruct your view of the road, typically behind the rearview mirror.
  2. Clean the Windshield: Ensure the mounting surface is clean and dry for optimal adhesion.

4.2. Initial Power On

Once connected to power, the dash cam will automatically power on and begin recording. Follow the on-screen prompts to set the date, time, and preferred language (English menu available).

5. Operating

5.1. Basic Recording

The TrueCam A7s automatically starts recording when the vehicle's ignition is turned on and stops when the ignition is off. Videos are recorded in a continuous loop, overwriting the oldest unprotected files when the memory card is full.

5.2. Motion Detection

When enabled, the dash cam will automatically start recording if it detects motion in front of the vehicle, even when parked. This feature is useful for monitoring your vehicle when you are away.

5.3. G-Sensor (Impact Detection)

The built-in G-sensor detects sudden impacts or rapid acceleration/deceleration. When an event is detected, the current video segment is automatically locked and protected from being overwritten, ensuring critical footage is saved.

5.4. GPS and Speed Camera Detection

The integrated GPS module tracks your vehicle's location and speed. The dash cam also features a database of over 40,000 speed cameras in 36 countries, providing audible warnings as you approach them. All updates to the speed camera database are provided free of charge.

5.5. Night Mode

The TrueCam A7s is optimized for low-light conditions, capturing clear and detailed video footage even at night, ensuring important details like license plates and faces are visible.

5.6. CPL Filter (Optional)

An optional CPL (Circular Polarizing Lens) filter can be attached to reduce glare and reflections from the windshield and dashboard, improving video clarity, especially in bright sunlight.

6. Features

  • Full HD+ Video Quality: Records in 1296p resolution, capturing sharp details like license plates and traffic signs.
  • Integrated GPS: Provides accurate location and speed data, which can be displayed directly on the video footage.
  • Speed Camera Database: Alerts you to fixed speed cameras, helping you avoid fines. Free lifetime updates.
  • Smart Holder: Simplifies daily use by allowing the camera to be easily attached and removed from the powered mount without re-adjusting cables or angles.
  • Super Capacitor: Ensures long-term durability and reliability, especially in extreme temperatures, unlike traditional batteries that degrade over time. The super capacitor requires continuous power connection during operation.
  • LDWS (Lane Departure Warning System): Alerts the driver if the vehicle drifts out of its lane.
  • 180-Degree Rotation: Allows for flexible camera positioning.
  • Loop Recording: Automatically overwrites the oldest files to ensure continuous recording.
  • File Protection: Manually or automatically locks video files to prevent accidental deletion.
  • Automatic Power On/Off: Starts recording when the car starts and saves files before shutting down when the car is turned off.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera lens and body. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Memory Card: Periodically format your Micro SD card (at least once a month) within the camera's settings to maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption.
  • Temperature: Avoid exposing the dash cam to extreme temperatures for prolonged periods when not in use. The super capacitor is designed to withstand temperature fluctuations during operation.
