Setup and Installation

1. Initial Charging

Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the camera's internal batteries using the provided MicroUSB cable. Connect the cable to the camera's MicroUSB port and a standard USB power adapter (not included). The charging indicator (if present) will show the charging status.

2. Inserting the Micro SD Card

The camera requires a Micro SD card (up to 512GB, not included) for storing video and photo recordings. Locate the Micro SD card slot, typically protected by a rubber cover. Gently insert the Micro SD card with the contacts facing down until it clicks into place.

Note: The camera may require the Micro SD card to be formatted before use. If recordings are not saving, try formatting the card using a computer or the camera's configuration tool if available.

3. Mounting the Camera

The TX-156 offers versatile mounting options:

  • Using the Mounting Belt: Thread the provided mounting belt through the slots on the back of the camera. Secure the camera to a tree, pole, or similar structure by tightening the belt.

Optimal Placement:

  • Position the camera where the solar panel receives direct sunlight for several hours daily to ensure continuous battery charging.
  • Close-up of the solar panel on the Technaxx TX-156 camera, showing the photovoltaic cells.

Figure 8: A detailed view of the solar panel, emphasizing its design for efficient energy absorption.

  • Ensure the camera's field of view covers the desired surveillance area and the PIR sensor is unobstructed.
  • Mount the camera at a height that allows for effective motion detection and clear image capture, typically 2-3 meters (6-10 feet) above ground.

Operation

1. Powering On/Off

The camera typically powers on automatically once charged and a Micro SD card is inserted. There may be a power switch near the Micro SD card slot. Refer to the specific markings on your device for the exact location and operation of the power switch.

2. Motion Detection and Recording

The TX-156 is equipped with a PIR (Passive Infrared) motion sensor. When motion is detected within its 120° range and up to 8 meters, the camera will automatically trigger a recording.

  • Video Recording: By default, video recordings are 10 seconds long. These are saved to the Micro SD card.
  • Photo Capture: The camera can also capture still images upon motion detection.
  • LED Light Activation: The high-power LED lights will activate when motion is detected, providing illumination for night recordings.

3. Data Retrieval

To access recorded videos and photos:

  • Carefully remove the Micro SD card from the camera.
  • Insert the Micro SD card into a compatible card reader connected to a computer.
  • Browse the files on the Micro SD card to view or transfer your recordings.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe the solar panel, camera lens, and LED lights with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, or debris that may obstruct performance. Do not use harsh chemicals.
  • Battery Care: While the solar panel provides continuous charging, ensure the camera is placed in an area with sufficient sunlight. If the camera is stored for extended periods, ensure it is fully charged before storage and recharged every few months to maintain battery health.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the Technaxx official website for any available firmware updates for your TX-156 model. Follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer for any update procedures.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Camera not recording.Micro SD card full, not inserted correctly, or not formatted.Check Micro SD card insertion. Format the card (backup data first). Replace with a new card if corrupted.
Poor video/photo quality.Dirty lens, insufficient light, or camera too far from subject.Clean the camera lens. Ensure adequate lighting or reposition the camera closer to the subject.
Battery not holding charge / Camera powers off frequently.Insufficient sunlight for solar panel, or battery degradation.Relocate camera to an area with more direct sunlight. Ensure solar panel is clean. If issues persist, internal batteries may need service (contact Technaxx support).
Motion detection not working.PIR sensor obstructed, or subject is outside detection range/angle.Ensure PIR sensor is clean and unobstructed. Adjust camera angle or position to cover the desired area.
Cannot connect wirelessly (if applicable).Connectivity issues (e.g., Wi-Fi signal, device settings). While the product description states "Sans Fil" (Wireless), it does not specify Wi-Fi. If your model has Wi-Fi, ensure it's within range of your router and check network settings. Perform a device reset if necessary.
