Please read this manual thoroughly before installation, operation, or maintenance to ensure proper use and to prevent damage to the appliance or injury to yourself.

Safety Information

  • Ensure the appliance is properly grounded.
  • Do not operate the appliance with a damaged power cord or plug.
  • Keep ventilation openings clear of obstruction.
  • Do not store explosive substances such as aerosol cans with a flammable propellant in this appliance.
  • This appliance is intended for household use only.
  • Unplug the appliance before cleaning or performing maintenance.
  • Do not allow children to play with or inside the appliance.

Setup

Unpacking

  1. Carefully remove all packaging materials, including the base, foam, and tape.
  2. Inspect the wine cooler for any damage during transit. If damage is found, do not operate and contact customer support.
  3. Remove any internal packaging, such as tape securing the wooden racks.

Placement

The Mayer MMWC28MAGWD is designed for free-standing installation only. It is not intended for built-in or recessed installation.

  • Place the wine cooler on a flat, level, and sturdy surface capable of supporting its weight when fully loaded.
  • Ensure adequate air circulation around the appliance. Allow at least 10 cm (4 inches) of space at the back and sides, and 30 cm (12 inches) at the top for proper ventilation.
  • Avoid placing the appliance in direct sunlight or near heat sources such as ovens, radiators, or heaters, as this can affect cooling performance and energy consumption.
  • Do not place the wine cooler in areas with high humidity.

Power Connection

  • Allow the appliance to stand upright for at least 2-4 hours before connecting it to power. This allows the refrigerant fluids to settle.
  • Plug the power cord into a dedicated, grounded electrical outlet. Do not use extension cords or adapter plugs.

Initial Cleaning

Before storing any bottles, clean the interior of the wine cooler with a damp cloth and a mild detergent. Wipe dry thoroughly.

Operating Instructions

Control Panel

The control panel allows you to adjust the temperature and control the interior LED light. To adjust the temperature or turn on/off the light, you typically need to press and hold two buttons simultaneously for approximately 3 seconds to unlock the controls, then press the specific function button.

Temperature Control

  • The wine cooler features a single temperature zone with a range of 4°C to 18°C.
  • Use the temperature adjustment buttons on the control panel to set your desired temperature. Lower temperatures are generally suitable for white wines, while higher temperatures are for red wines.
  • The display will show the set temperature. Allow several hours for the internal temperature to stabilize after making adjustments or after initial setup.

LED Light

The interior LED light illuminates the cabinet for better visibility of your wine collection. Operate the light using the dedicated button on the control panel, following the unlock procedure if necessary.

Loading Bottles

The Mayer MMWC28MAGWD can accommodate up to 28 standard Bordeaux 750ml bottles. It is equipped with wooden racks for secure storage.

  • Arrange bottles to allow for proper air circulation within the cabinet.
  • Avoid overloading the racks, as this can impede air flow and cooling efficiency.
  • The 3-layer glass door provides enhanced UV protection, helping to shield your wine from harmful light exposure.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Interior

  • Always unplug the appliance before cleaning.
  • Clean the interior with a soft cloth, warm water, and a mild, non-abrasive detergent.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or scouring pads, as these can damage surfaces.
  • Wipe down the wooden racks with a damp cloth and dry them thoroughly to prevent mold or mildew.

Cleaning the Exterior

  • Clean the exterior surfaces with a soft cloth and a mild detergent.
  • For the glass door, use a glass cleaner applied to a cloth, not directly to the door, to avoid streaks and protect seals.
  • Regularly vacuum or wipe the condenser coils at the back of the unit to ensure efficient operation.

Defrosting

This wine cooler features a Frost Free defrosting system, which minimizes ice buildup. However, if any ice accumulates, it will typically melt and evaporate automatically. If excessive ice forms, manually defrost the unit by unplugging it and allowing the ice to melt naturally. Ensure to place a towel to catch any water.
