1. Important Safety Information

Please read all safety instructions carefully before using the device. Retain this manual for future reference.

• Do not expose the device to rain, moisture, or extreme temperatures.
• Avoid placing the device near heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus that produce heat.
• Use only the power adapter supplied with the unit. Using unauthorized adapters may damage the device and void the warranty.
• Do not block any ventilation openings. Ensure proper airflow around the device.
• Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the device.
• Unplug the device during lightning storms or when unused for long periods.
• Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the device has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the device, the device has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
• Do not open the casing of the device. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.

2. Product Overview

2.1 Components

Your ONN Portable DVD and Media Player includes the following main components:

• Main Player Unit with 10-inch Swivel LCD Screen
• AC Power Adapter
• Car Charger
• Remote Control
• Earphones
• AV Cable

2.2 Controls and Ports

Familiarize yourself with the various controls and connection ports on your device.

• Power ON/OFF Switch: Located on the side, used to turn the device on or off.
• Disc Tray: Located under the screen, for inserting DVDs and CDs.
• Control Buttons:
  • PLAY/PAUSE: Starts or pauses playback.
  • STOP: Stops playback.
  • PREV/NEXT: Skips to the previous or next track/chapter.
  • REW/FF: Rewinds or fast-forwards playback.
  • MENU/SETUP: Accesses the disc menu or system settings.
  • OK/ENTER: Confirms selections.
  • Directional Arrows: Navigates through menus.
• Volume Control: Buttons or a dial to adjust audio output level.
• USB Port: For connecting USB flash drives.
• SD Card Slot: For inserting SD memory cards.
• AV-OUT Port: For connecting to an external display (e.g., TV).
• AV-IN Port: For connecting an external audio/video source.

3. Setup

3.1 Charging the Battery

1. Connect the supplied AC power adapter to the DC IN port on the player.
2. Plug the AC power adapter into a standard wall outlet.
3. The charging indicator light will illuminate. Allow approximately 3-4 hours for a full charge.
4. For car use, connect the supplied car charger to the DC IN port and plug it into your vehicle's 12V power outlet.

Note: The player can be used while charging. A fully charged battery provides up to 5 hours of playback time.

3.2 Inserting a DVD/CD

1. Gently open the screen of the player.
2. Locate the disc tray. Press the "OPEN" button or slide the latch to open the disc compartment.
3. Place the DVD or CD onto the spindle with the label side facing up. Ensure the disc is securely seated.
4. Close the disc compartment firmly until it clicks into place.

3.3 Using USB/SD Card Media

1. Locate the USB port or SD card slot on the side of the player.
2. Insert your USB flash drive or SD card into the corresponding slot. Ensure it is inserted correctly.
3. The player will typically detect the media automatically and display a menu for file selection. If not, use the "SOURCE" or "MODE" button (if available) to switch to USB or SD mode.

Note: The player supports JPEG and MP3 media files from USB and SD cards.

3.4 Connecting Headphones

Plug the 3.5mm jack of your earphones into the headphone port on the side of the player. The internal speakers will automatically mute when headphones are connected.

3.5 Connecting to an External Display (AV-OUT)

To view content on a larger screen:

1. Connect one end of the supplied AV cable to the AV-OUT port on the player.
2. Connect the other end of the AV cable to the corresponding AV-IN ports (Yellow for Video, White for Left Audio, Red for Right Audio) on your television or monitor.
3. Select the correct AV input source on your television.

3.6 Connecting an External Audio/Video Source (AV-IN)

To use the player's screen as a monitor for an external device:

1. Connect one end of the supplied AV cable to the AV-IN port on the player.
2. Connect the other end of the AV cable to the AV-OUT ports of your external device (e.g., game console, camcorder).
3. Switch the player's input mode to AV-IN using the appropriate button (if available) or through the system menu.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On/Off

• To turn on the player, slide the Power ON/OFF switch to the "ON" position. The screen will illuminate.
• To turn off the player, slide the Power ON/OFF switch to the "OFF" position.

4.2 Basic Playback (DVD/CD)

1. Insert a DVD or CD as described in Section 3.2.
2. The player will typically begin playback automatically. If not, press the PLAY/PAUSE button.
3. Use the PREV/NEXT buttons to skip chapters/tracks.
4. Use the REW/FF buttons for fast rewind or fast forward.
5. Press STOP to end playback.
6. Press MENU/SETUP to access the disc's main menu or the player's system settings. Use directional arrows and OK to navigate.

4.3 USB/SD Card Playback

1. Insert a USB drive or SD card as described in Section 3.3.
2. The player should display a file browser. Navigate to your desired JPEG images or MP3 audio files using the directional arrows and press OK to select.
3. For MP3s, playback will begin. For JPEGs, a slideshow may start or you can view them individually.

4.4 Screen Swivel Function

The 10-inch LCD screen can swivel up to 180 degrees, allowing for various viewing angles. Gently rotate the screen to your desired position. Avoid excessive force to prevent damage to the hinge mechanism.

4.5 Volume Control

Adjust the volume using the dedicated volume buttons or dial on the player, or via the remote control.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Device

• Ensure the player is turned off and unplugged before cleaning.
• Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior surfaces.
• For the LCD screen, use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for electronics screens. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Never spray cleaning liquids directly onto the device.

5.2 Battery Care

• To prolong battery life, fully charge the battery before first use.
• Avoid completely draining the battery frequently.
• If storing the device for an extended period, charge the battery to about 50% and store in a cool, dry place. Recharge every 3-6 months to prevent deep discharge.

5.3 Storage

When not in use, store the player in a clean, dry environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Keep it in its original packaging or a protective case to prevent dust and scratches.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your ONN Portable DVD Player, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

• No Power:
  • Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the player and a working power outlet.
  • Check if the battery is charged. If not, charge the device for at least 30 minutes.
  • Verify the Power ON/OFF switch is in the "ON" position.
• Disc Not Playing / "No Disc" Error:
  • Ensure the disc is inserted correctly with the label side facing up.
  • Check if the disc is clean and free from scratches or smudges. Clean with a soft, lint-free cloth if necessary.
  • Verify the disc format is compatible (DVD+R/RW, CD-R/RW).
  • Try a different disc to rule out a faulty disc.
• USB Drive / SD Card Not Recognized:
  • Ensure the USB drive or SD card is fully and correctly inserted into its slot.
  • Check that the files on the USB/SD card are compatible formats (JPEG, MP3).
  • Try a different USB drive or SD card.
  • Some high-capacity or specially formatted drives may not be supported.
• No Sound:
  • Increase the volume using the player's controls or remote.
  • Check if headphones are connected; if so, unplug them to enable internal speakers.
  • Ensure the audio track on the DVD/CD is not muted or set to a very low volume.
• Picture is Distorted or Flickering:
  • Ensure the disc is clean and undamaged.
  • If connected to an external display, check the AV cable connections.
  • Restart the player.
