Setup
Battery Installation
The LEAP Digital Chess Clock requires 1 AA battery (not included).
- Locate the battery compartment on the bottom of the clock.

Setting Time (Countdown Mode)
To set the countdown time for a game:
- Power off the clock, then power it back on.
- Press and hold the Play/Pause/Setting button (►▮/⚡) for 3 seconds to enter the time setting mode. The hour digits will flash.
- Use the Up (▲) or Down (▼) buttons to adjust the hour.
- Press the Play/Pause/Setting button (►▮/⚡) briefly to move to the minute digits, then adjust with Up/Down buttons.
- Repeat for seconds.
- Continue pressing the Play/Pause/Setting button (►▮/⚡) to cycle through bonus and delay settings (if applicable to the selected mode).
- Once all settings are configured, press and hold the Play/Pause/Setting button (►▮/⚡) for 3 seconds to save and exit the setting mode.
- Press the Play/Pause/Setting button (►▮/⚡) briefly to start the countdown.
Note: If you are playing with the same game time repeatedly, simply turn the clock off and on, then press the Play/Pause/Setting button (►▮/⚡) to begin the countdown with the last saved settings.
Count-Up Timing
To use the clock in count-up mode:
- Ensure the clock is powered on and set to a mode that supports count-up (e.g., Basic mode with initial time set to 0:00).
- Press the Play/Pause/Setting button (►▮/⚡) briefly to start the timer. It will begin counting upwards from 0:00.
