Operating Instructions
Measuring External Dimensions
Use the outside jaws to measure external dimensions of an object.
- Open the outside jaws wider than the object to be measured.
- Place the object between the jaws.
- Gently close the jaws until they make firm contact with the object. Do not apply excessive force.
- Read the measurement displayed on the digital screen.
Measuring Internal Dimensions
Use the inside jaws to measure internal dimensions, such as bore diameters.
- Insert the inside jaws into the opening to be measured.
- Open the jaws until they make firm contact with the internal surfaces.
- Read the measurement displayed on the digital screen.
Measuring Depth
Use the depth rod to measure the depth of holes or steps.
- Place the end of the main beam firmly on the surface from which the depth is to be measured.
- Extend the depth rod into the hole or down to the step until it makes contact with the bottom surface.
- Read the measurement displayed on the digital screen.
Measuring Steps
Use the step measuring faces to measure the height of steps.
- Place the fixed jaw's step face on the higher surface.
- Slide the movable jaw's step face down to the lower surface.
- Read the measurement displayed on the digital screen.
Unit Conversion
If your model supports it, press the 'MODE' button to switch between millimeter (mm) and inch (in) units. The current unit will be indicated on the display.
Maintenance
Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and accuracy of your caliper.
- Wipe the caliper clean with a soft, lint-free cloth after each use.
- For stubborn dirt, use a cloth lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol. Avoid harsh solvents.
- Ensure no liquid enters the electronic components.
Storage
Proper storage protects the caliper from damage and environmental factors.
- Store the caliper in its protective case when not in use.
- Keep it in a dry environment, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and corrosive substances.
- Slightly open the jaws before storing to relieve tension on the measuring faces.
Battery Replacement
Replace the battery when the display becomes dim or shows a low battery indicator. Refer to the "Battery Installation" section for replacement steps.
