Setup
Initial Charging
Before first use, fully charge the VIVOSUN Air Quality Monitor. Connect the provided USB Type-C cable to the charging port on the device and plug the other end into a compatible 5V/1A USB power adapter (not included). A full charge typically takes approximately 3 hours. The built-in 1200 mAh battery provides 3-4 hours of continuous operation on a full charge.
First-Time Calibration
For accurate readings, it is essential to calibrate the monitor upon first use. Place the device in a well-ventilated area, away from any potential sources of pollution, for at least 3 minutes. The device will automatically register and stabilize its readings during this period. Refer to the on-screen prompts or the 'Calib' option in the menu for specific calibration procedures if available.
Operating Instructions
Powering On/Off
Press and hold the power button (usually located on the side or front panel) to turn the device on or off. The LCD screen will illuminate upon startup.
Understanding the Display
The large color LCD screen provides real-time data for various air quality parameters. The display is designed for clear readability, even for users with impaired vision.

Figure 4: Detailed view of the monitor's LCD screen, indicating various air quality parameters and their corresponding values for easy interpretation.
- HCHO Value: Formaldehyde concentration in mg/m³.
- TVOC Value: Total Volatile Organic Compounds concentration in mg/m³.
- PM1.0, PM2.5, PM10 Values: Particulate Matter concentrations in µg/m³.
- Temperature (TEMP): Current ambient temperature.
- Humidity (HUM): Current ambient humidity percentage.
- Air Pollution Level: An overall indicator, often color-coded (green for fresh, red for poor).
Real-time Monitoring and Alarm System
The monitor continuously samples the air and updates readings in real-time. The built-in alarm system provides immediate feedback on air quality:
- Green Indicator: Signifies good air quality.
- Red Indicator: Indicates poor air quality, often accompanied by an audible alarm.
The device is suitable for monitoring air quality in various indoor environments such as homes, offices, and vehicles.

Maintenance
Cleaning the Device
To ensure optimal performance, keep the device clean. Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or allow liquids to enter the device, especially the air intake/exhaust holes. Regularly check that the air holes are free from dust or obstructions.
Battery Care
To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the device frequently. Recharge the battery when the low battery indicator appears. If storing the device for an extended period, charge it to approximately 50% and recharge every few months.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Device does not power on. | Low battery or charging issue. | Ensure the device is fully charged using the provided USB Type-C cable and a 5V/1A adapter. Check the charging cable and adapter for damage. |
| Readings (HCHO, TVOC) are consistently zero or appear inaccurate. | Device requires re-calibration or is in a very clean environment. | Perform a re-calibration in a well-ventilated area. If readings remain zero in an environment suspected of pollution, contact customer support. |
| Audible alarm sounds frequently. | High levels of detected pollutants. | Check the display for specific high readings. Ventilate the area, identify and remove pollution sources if possible. |
| Screen is dim or unreadable. | Low battery or display settings. | Charge the device. Check if there are any brightness settings in the device menu. |
