Safety Information
Always follow basic safety precautions when installing and operating the cover lifter to reduce the risk of injury or damage.
- Ensure all components are securely fastened before use.
- Do not allow children to operate the cover lifter unsupervised.
- Verify the hot tub cover is properly seated on the lifter arms before moving.
- Do not attempt to lift covers heavier than the recommended weight capacity.
- Use caution to avoid pinching hazards during operation.
Setup and Installation
The Wellis Easy-Lifter is designed for quick installation and easy operation. It is suitable for almost any hot tub size due to its adjustable design.
Package Contents:
- 1 x Wellis Easy-Lifter Thermal Cover Lifter (main assembly)
- Mounting hardware (screws, caps)
- Instruction manual (this document)
Note: Hot tub and hot tub cover are not included.
Installation Steps:
- Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging and verify against the package contents list.
- Positioning: Determine the optimal mounting location on your hot tub. The lifter is adjustable to fit hot tubs with lengths from 1750mm to 2350mm and widths from 1900mm to 2500mm. Ensure sufficient clearance behind the hot tub for the cover to rest when open.
- Mounting the Brackets:
Attach the main mounting brackets to the side of your hot tub. Use the provided screws. It is recommended to pre-drill pilot holes to prevent cracking the hot tub skirting. A cardboard template can be useful for accurate drilling.

- Assemble Lifter Arms: Connect the aluminum tubing sections to form the lifter arms. Ensure all connections are secure. The aluminum tubing is black powder-coated for durability.
- Attach Lifter Arms to Brackets: Secure the assembled lifter arms to the mounted brackets using the designated pins or bolts. Ensure free movement of the arms.
- Final Adjustments: Adjust the length and width of the lifter arms to perfectly accommodate your hot tub cover. The lifter is designed to be ergonomically comfortable for use.
Operating Instructions
The Wellis Easy-Lifter allows for easy, single-person removal of your hot tub cover.
- Fold the Cover: Fold your hot tub cover in half, ensuring the fold is centered on the hot tub.
- Position the Lifter: Ensure the lifter arms are in their closed position, ready to receive the folded cover.
- Slide Cover onto Lifter: Carefully slide the folded hot tub cover onto the lifter arms. Ensure it is balanced and fully supported.
- Open the Cover: Grasp the handle or a sturdy part of the lifter and gently push downwards and backwards. The lifter mechanism will pivot, allowing the cover to smoothly slide off the hot tub and rest in an upright, stored position behind the hot tub.
- Close the Cover: To close, gently pull the lifter arms forward. The cover will pivot back over the hot tub. Carefully slide the cover back into its closed position.

Tip: When opening, lift from the center of the cover to prevent twisting of the frame, especially with heavier covers.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance will ensure the longevity and smooth operation of your Wellis Easy-Lifter.
- Cleaning: Wipe down the aluminum frame and plastic components with a damp cloth periodically to remove dirt and debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Lubrication: Apply a silicone-based lubricant to the pivot points and moving parts annually or as needed to ensure smooth operation.
- Hardware Check: Periodically inspect all screws and bolts to ensure they are tight. Re-tighten if necessary.
- Damage Inspection: Check for any signs of wear, corrosion, or damage to the frame or mounting brackets. Replace damaged parts immediately.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Lifter is stiff or difficult to move. | Lack of lubrication; dirt/debris in pivot points. | Clean pivot points and apply silicone lubricant. |
| Cover does not sit evenly on lifter. | Cover not centered; lifter arms not adjusted correctly. | Ensure cover is folded and centered. Check and adjust lifter arm length/width. |
| Screws or mounting hardware are loose. | Vibration or normal use over time. | Re-tighten all mounting screws. |
| Screw caps do not hold. | Screws sinking into plastic; manufacturing tolerance. | This is a known minor issue. Consider using a small amount of adhesive or painting the screw heads if desired. |
