4. Setup

The MOTOPOWER MP0515A is self-powered by the vehicle's battery. No external power source is required for operation.

Connection Steps:

  1. Ensure the vehicle's ignition is off and all accessories are turned off.
  2. Connect the red positive (+) clamp of the tester to the positive (+) terminal of the 12V battery.
  3. Connect the black negative (-) clamp of the tester to the negative (-) terminal of the 12V battery.
  4. The tester will power on automatically once connected correctly.

5. Operating Instructions

Navigate through the menu using the directional buttons and confirm selections with the 'OK' button. Use 'ESC' to go back to the previous screen.

5.1 Battery Test

This function analyzes the battery's overall health, including its State of Health (SOH), State of Charge (SOC), internal resistance, and voltage.

  1. From the main menu, select 'Battery'.
  2. Select the battery type (e.g., Regular Flooded, AGM, GEL, EFB) that matches your vehicle's battery.
  3. Input the Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) rating of your battery. This value is typically found on the battery label.

5.2 Cranking Test

  1. From the main menu, select 'Start'.
  2. Follow the on-screen prompts to start the engine.
  3. The tester will display the minimum and maximum cranking voltage, along with a graphical representation of the voltage change.
  4. A conclusion (e.g., 'Normal', 'Low') will be provided based on the measured voltage.

5.3 Charging Test

  1. From the main menu, select 'Charge'.
