Setup

1. Unpacking

Carefully remove the guitar from its packaging. Inspect the instrument for any signs of damage that may have occurred during shipping. Retain all packaging materials for future transport or storage.

2. Tuning

The guitar may require tuning upon arrival. Use a reliable electronic tuner to bring the strings to standard pitch (E-A-D-G-B-e). The guitar is equipped with nickel strings.

3. Initial Inspection

Check the action (string height), neck relief, and intonation. While the guitar is set up at the factory, minor adjustments may be necessary due to environmental changes during transit. If you are unfamiliar with these adjustments, it is recommended to consult a qualified guitar technician.

Operating the Guitar

1. Controls Overview

The Starfire I Jet 90 features a master volume and master tone control, along with a unique six-way rotary pickup selector switch. This switch allows for a wide array of tonal combinations from the three Guild Franz P90 pickups.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

Regularly wipe down the guitar with a soft, lint-free cloth after each use to remove sweat and oils. For satin finishes, use a damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners or polishes that can alter the finish. For hardware, a dry cloth is usually sufficient.

2. String Replacement

Replace strings regularly to maintain optimal tone and playability. The guitar comes equipped with Nickel strings. When replacing, change one string at a time to maintain neck tension.

3. Fretboard Care

The Indian Rosewood fretboard benefits from occasional conditioning to prevent drying and cracking. Use a specialized fretboard conditioner once or twice a year, or as needed based on climate.

4. Storage

Store the guitar in its case when not in use to protect it from dust, humidity fluctuations, and physical damage. Avoid extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
