5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your extractor hood. Always disconnect the power supply before performing any maintenance.
Cleaning the Grease Filters
The metallic grease filters capture airborne grease particles. They should be cleaned regularly (approximately every 2-4 weeks, depending on usage) to maintain extraction efficiency and prevent fire hazards.

Figure 6: Example of a metallic grease filter. These filters are dishwasher-safe.
- To remove, locate the release latch on each filter and pull it down.
- Carefully slide the filter out.
- Clean the filters by hand using hot water and a mild detergent, or place them in a dishwasher on a low-temperature cycle.
- Ensure filters are completely dry before re-installing.
- Re-insert the filters by aligning them with the slots and pushing until the latch clicks into place.
Exterior Cleaning
Clean the exterior surfaces of the hood with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner suitable for stainless steel. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive pads that could scratch the surface.
Bulb Maintenance and Recycling
The hood uses LED lighting, which typically has a long lifespan. If a bulb needs replacement, consult a qualified technician. For recycling information regarding this and other bulb types, please refer to local recycling guidelines.
