3. Installation and Setup
Unpacking
Carefully remove all packaging materials, including the foam base and adhesive tape. Inspect the freezer for any shipping damage. Keep packaging materials until you are satisfied with the product's operation.
Placement
- Place the freezer on a flat, stable surface strong enough to support the unit when fully loaded.
- Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources (e.g., stove, radiator).
- Ensure adequate ventilation: leave at least 4 inches of space on the sides and back, and 8 inches on top.
- The flat back design allows for placement closer to a wall, optimizing space.
Leveling
The freezer has adjustable leveling legs. Turn the legs clockwise to raise the freezer or counter-clockwise to lower it. Ensure the freezer is level to prevent vibrations and ensure proper door sealing.
Reversible Door Installation
The door can be reversed to open from either the left or right side, depending on your space requirements. This process involves removing the top hinge, transferring the door, and reattaching the hinges on the opposite side. Refer to the detailed diagrams in the full manual for step-by-step instructions.

Power Connection
Plug the freezer into a dedicated 115 Volt, 60 Hz, 15 Amp grounded electrical outlet. Do not use a power strip or extension cord. Allow the freezer to stand upright for at least 2-4 hours before plugging it in to allow refrigerants to settle.
4. Operation
Temperature Control
The freezer is equipped with an adjustable thermostat located inside the unit. The temperature control dial has settings from 1 (warmest) to 6 (coldest).
- Setting 1-2: Suitable for light freezing or when the freezer is not heavily loaded.
- Setting 3-4: Recommended for normal use and general frozen food storage.
- Setting 5-6: For maximum freezing, ideal for initial cool-down or when adding large quantities of fresh food to freeze.
Adjust the dial to your desired setting. Allow several hours for the temperature to stabilize after adjustment.

Manual Defrost
This freezer features manual defrost. Frost buildup is normal and should be removed periodically to maintain efficiency. Refer to the Maintenance section for detailed defrosting instructions.
5. Maintenance
Cleaning Your Freezer
- Interior: Clean the interior regularly with a solution of mild detergent and warm water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior with a soft cloth and mild detergent. For the VCM door, use a non-abrasive cleaner designed for stainless steel or similar finishes.
- Door Gasket: Clean the door gasket regularly to ensure a tight seal.
- Before Cleaning: Always unplug the freezer from the power outlet before cleaning.
Defrosting Procedure
Defrost the freezer when frost buildup reaches approximately 1/4 inch (6 mm) thick. Excessive frost reduces cooling efficiency.
- Prepare: Remove all food items and store them in another freezer or cooler.
- Unplug: Disconnect the freezer from the power outlet.
- Open Door: Leave the freezer door open to allow frost to melt naturally. You can place towels on the floor to absorb water.
- Accelerate (Optional): Place bowls of hot water inside the freezer to speed up melting. Do NOT use sharp objects or heating devices (e.g., hair dryer) to remove frost, as this can damage the cooling system.
- Clean and Dry: Once all frost has melted, clean and thoroughly dry the interior.
- Restart: Plug the freezer back in and allow it to cool down for a few hours before returning food items.
6. Troubleshooting
Before contacting customer service, review this section for common issues and their solutions.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Freezer does not operate. | No power to the unit. Temperature control set to 'OFF'. | Check if the power cord is securely plugged in. Check the circuit breaker/fuse. Turn the temperature control to a desired setting. |
| Freezer is not cold enough. | Door not closed properly. Temperature control set too warm. Excessive frost buildup. Too much warm food added. | Ensure door is fully closed and gasket is sealing. Adjust temperature control to a colder setting. Defrost the freezer. Allow time for the freezer to cool down. Avoid overloading. |
| Excessive noise. | Freezer is not level. Vibrating components. Normal operating sounds. | Adjust leveling legs. Ensure nothing is touching the back or sides of the freezer. Gurgling, popping, or cracking sounds are normal as refrigerant circulates and components expand/contract. |
| Door does not close completely. | Freezer is not level. Door gasket is dirty or damaged. Shelves are out of place. | Adjust leveling legs. Clean or replace the door gasket. Rearrange shelves to ensure they are properly seated. |
| Frost buildup inside. | Door opened too frequently. High humidity. Door gasket not sealing. | Minimize door openings. Ensure door is closed quickly. This is a manual defrost unit; regular defrosting is required. Clean or replace the door gasket. |
