3. Setup
3.1 Connecting the Headset
The Meters Level-Up Gaming Headset offers versatile connectivity options:
- For PC (with Virtual 7.1 Surround Sound and RGB): Connect the headset to your PC using the provided USB cable. This enables the Virtual 7.1 Surround Sound and RGB VU meter functionality.
- For PC, Laptops, PS4, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Smartphones/Tablets (Stereo Audio): Use the 3.5mm to 3.5mm 4-pole jack cable to connect the headset to your device's audio port.
3.2 Attaching the Microphone
The electret condenser microphone is detachable. To attach, align the microphone's 3.5mm jack with the dedicated port on the left earcup and push firmly until it clicks into place. To detach, gently pull the microphone away from the earcup.

3.3 Driver Installation (for PC 7.1 Surround Sound)
For optimal 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound on Windows PCs, it is recommended to install the dedicated driver from the official Meters website. This driver is compatible with Windows systems only and is not available for Mac OS. The installation process typically takes a few minutes to configure.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Controls
All primary audio controls are conveniently located on the left earcup:
- Volume Adjustment Wheel: Rotate to increase or decrease the headset's audio output.
- Microphone Mute Button: Press to mute or unmute the microphone. A high-frequency sound may be produced when activating or deactivating.
4.2 Microphone Usage
The detachable electret condenser microphone provides crystal-clear communication. Its noise-canceling feature helps to minimize background noise, ensuring your voice is heard clearly during gaming sessions or calls. The foam windshield can be removed if desired.

4.3 Sound Features
- Virtual 7.1 Surround Sound: Immerse yourself in a simulated 7.1 audio environment for enhanced spatial awareness in games and movies (requires USB connection and Windows driver).
- RGB VU Meter: The headset features an RGB-customizable VU meter on the earcups that displays real-time audio levels. This visual effect is active when connected via USB.

6. Software and Drivers
For Windows PC users, the 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound tuning software provides advanced audio customization. This software is available for download from the official Meters website.
6.1 Speaker Settings
The speaker tab in the software allows you to control:
- Volume Control: Adjust master and individual speaker volumes.
- Sample Rate: Select between 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz.
- Equalizer: Utilize 12 presets or manual control for audio tuning.
- Environment Effects: Choose from 27 effects with three room sizes.
- 7.1 Virtual Speaker Shifter: Adjust virtual speaker positions.
- Xear SingFX: Enable key shifting and vocal fading.
- Xear Surround Max: Enhance surround sound.
6.2 Microphone Settings
The microphone tab in the software allows you to control:

7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: The soft protein leather earcups and headband are easy to clean. Wipe them down with a damp cloth as needed.

8. Troubleshooting
- No Sound: Ensure all cables are securely connected. Check the volume adjustment wheel on the headset and your device's audio settings.
- Microphone Not Working: Verify the microphone is securely attached and not muted. Check your device's microphone input settings and the headset's software settings (if applicable).
- Sound Quality Issues: For PC users, ensure the 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound driver is correctly installed and configured. Adjust equalizer settings in the software to suit your preferences.
- High-Frequency Sound on Mic Mute: A minor high-frequency sound may occur when activating or deactivating the mic mute button. This is normal operation.
