4. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your ThruNite TT20 Flashlight.

  • Cleaning: Regularly clean the threads and O-rings with a clean cloth. Apply a thin layer of silicone grease to the O-rings periodically to maintain water resistance.
  • Battery Care:
    • Avoid over-discharging the battery. Recharge when the indicator turns red or flashing red.
    • If storing the flashlight for an extended period, charge the battery to approximately 50% and remove it from the flashlight to prevent self-discharge and potential damage.
  • Contact Points: Ensure the battery contact points and the flashlight's internal contacts are clean and free of debris.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your ThruNite TT20, refer to the following common solutions:

  • Flashlight does not turn on:
    • Check if the battery is fully charged.
    • Ensure the battery is inserted correctly with the positive (+) end facing the head of the flashlight.
    • Tighten the tail cap securely. A loose tail cap can prevent electrical contact.
    • Clean the battery contacts and flashlight threads.
    • Deactivate lockout mode if it was previously engaged.
  • Light output is dim or flickers:
    • The battery may be low. Recharge the flashlight.
    • Clean the battery contacts.
  • Flashlight gets hot quickly on high modes:
    • This is normal for high-output flashlights. The TT20 incorporates thermal regulation to prevent overheating. If it becomes too hot, the output will automatically step down to a lower mode.
