- Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear.
- Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or invalids and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended.

- Do not use outdoors.
- To disconnect heater, turn controls to off, then remove plug from outlet.
- Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater.
- To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
- A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable vapors or liquids are used or stored.
- Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.

Setup
Your Cadet F Series Portable Electric Baseboard Heater is designed for easy, freestanding use. Follow these steps for initial setup:
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the heater from its packaging. Inspect for any damage during transit. Retain packaging for storage if needed.
- Placement: Position the heater on a stable, level surface, preferably along an exterior wall or beneath a window for optimal heat distribution. Ensure there is at least 3 feet (0.9 m) of clearance from any combustible materials (curtains, furniture, etc.) to the front, sides, and rear of the unit.
- Power Connection: Plug the heater directly into a standard 120 Volt AC wall outlet. Do not use extension cords or power strips.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and safety of your heater.
- Cleaning: Ensure the heater is turned off and unplugged before cleaning. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the exterior surfaces. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Periodically vacuum the grilles to remove dust and debris.
- Inspection: Regularly check the power cord and plug for any signs of damage. Ensure the heater is free from obstructions and that air circulation is not impeded.
Troubleshooting
If your heater is not operating correctly, refer to the following common issues:
- Heater not turning on:
- Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a functioning 120V outlet.
- Check the circuit breaker in your home's electrical panel.
- Verify the thermostat dial is turned to an 'ON' position (not 'OFF').
- Insufficient heat:
- Ensure the thermostat dial is set to a higher temperature than the current room temperature.
- Check for any obstructions blocking the heater's air vents.
- Confirm the room size is within the recommended heating coverage (up to 600 sq ft).
- Unusual odors:
- A new heater may emit a slight odor during initial use; this is normal and should dissipate quickly.
- If odors persist, ensure no foreign objects or dust have accumulated on the heating element. Unplug and clean the unit.
