5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and safe operation of your electric bike.
- Battery Care: Charge the battery fully after each use. Avoid completely draining the battery. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when not in use.
- Tire Pressure: Regularly check and maintain the recommended tire pressure for optimal performance and safety.
- Brake Inspection: Periodically inspect brake pads and rotors for wear. Adjust or replace as necessary to ensure effective braking.
- Chain Lubrication: Keep the chain clean and lubricated to ensure smooth gear changes and prevent wear.
- Fastener Checks: Regularly check all bolts, nuts, and fasteners for tightness. Loose components can affect safety and performance.
- General Cleaning: Clean the bike regularly with a damp cloth. Avoid high-pressure washing directly on electrical components.
6. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your ANCHEER Electric Mountain Bike.
- Bike Not Powering On: Ensure the battery is fully charged and properly seated in the frame. Check that the battery is locked and the power button on the battery is pressed.
- Motor Not Assisting: Verify that the pedal-assist level is set above zero on the LCD display. Check for any loose connections to the motor or controller.
- Brakes Squealing or Rubbing: This often indicates misaligned brake calipers or worn pads. Adjust the caliper position to ensure the rotor is centered between the pads. If pads are worn, replace them.
- Gear Shifting Issues: If gears are not shifting smoothly, the derailleur may need adjustment. Consult a bike mechanic if you are unsure how to perform this adjustment.
- Reduced Range: Ensure tires are properly inflated. Riding in higher assist modes, against strong headwinds, or carrying heavy loads can reduce battery range.
