4. Operating Your RC Truck

The Losi Mini-T 2.0 is designed for performance. Operate with caution and common sense, especially when learning the controls.

4.1 Basic Controls

  • Steering: Use the steering wheel on the transmitter to control the direction of the front wheels.
  • Throttle: Use the trigger on the transmitter to control forward/reverse movement and speed.

4.2 Adjustments and Performance Tuning

The truck features oil-filled, fully adjustable shocks with adjustable collars for preload. You can also change the weight of the shock oil for different damping characteristics. Further adjustments can be made using the different mounting holes in the lower arms and top shock towers. Turnbuckle adjustable top arms allow for camber adjustment, and adjustable steering links help fine-tune toe-in or toe-out.

The chassis is constructed with a 2.5mm aircraft-quality aluminum plate and features robust nylon lower wishbones/arms for impact resistance. A carbon steel drive shaft runs from front to back, connecting to oil-filled differentials in the front, rear, and center. The central differential allows for varying power distribution to the front and rear wheels, enhancing performance on different terrains.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your RC truck.

5.1 General Cleaning

  • After each use, clean dirt and debris from the chassis, suspension components, and wheels.
  • Use a soft brush or compressed air for hard-to-reach areas.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals that may damage plastic or electronic components.

5.2 Component Inspection

  • Regularly check all screws and fasteners for tightness.
  • Inspect suspension arms, shock absorbers, and drive shafts for any signs of damage or wear.
  • Ensure the wheels and tires are in good condition. Standard 12mm hex drives allow for various aftermarket wheel options.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Losi Mini-T 2.0, consider the following basic troubleshooting steps:

  • No Power: Check battery charge, ensure all connections are secure, and verify transmitter batteries are installed correctly.
  • Loss of Control: Re-bind the transmitter and receiver. Check for any interference in your operating environment.
