4. Setup
- Unpack the shredder and all components from the packaging.
- Place the shredder head securely onto the 4-gallon wastebasket. Ensure it is properly aligned and seated to activate the safety interlock.
- Position the shredder on a flat, stable surface.
- Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet.
5. Operation
5.1 Control Switch Functions
The shredder features a 4-mode control switch located on the top of the shredder head:
- FWD (Forward): Manually feeds paper forward. Useful for clearing minor jams.
- AUTO (Automatic): The shredder will automatically start when paper is detected in the entry slot and stop when shredding is complete. This is the recommended setting for normal operation.
- OFF: Turns the shredder off.
- REV (Reverse): Manually reverses the shredder blades. Useful for clearing paper jams.

5.2 Shredding Documents
- Ensure the shredder is plugged in and the control switch is set to AUTO. The green Power LED should be illuminated.
- Insert up to 8 sheets of 20 lb. bond paper into the paper entry slot. The shredder will automatically begin shredding.
- For credit cards, insert one card at a time into the designated slot.
- The shredder can also handle small paper clips and staples.
- The shredder has a continuous run time of up to 5 minutes. After this period, a 30-minute cool-down period is required to prevent overheating.

6. Maintenance
6.1 Emptying the Wastebasket
When the wastebasket is full, the shredder will stop operating. To empty it:
- Ensure the shredder is turned OFF and unplugged.
- Use the lift-off handle to carefully remove the shredder head from the wastebasket.
- Empty the shredded contents from the 4-gallon wastebasket.
- Replace the shredder head securely onto the wastebasket.
