1. Product Overview

2. Initial Setup

Before using your tactix Delta Solar Edition smartwatch, follow these steps for initial setup:

  1. Charging the Device: Connect the charging cable to the watch's charging port and plug the USB end into a power source. Ensure the device is fully charged before first use. The solar charging lens will also contribute to battery life during outdoor exposure.
  2. Powering On: Press and hold the LIGHT button (top left) until the Garmin logo appears.
  3. Initial Configuration: Follow the on-screen prompts to select your language, units of measure, and personal data.
  4. Pairing with Smartphone: Download the Garmin Connect app on your smartphone. Open the app, create an account (if you don't have one), and follow the instructions to pair your tactix Delta Solar Edition. This enables smart notifications, data synchronization, and additional features.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1. Button Functions

  • LIGHT (Top Left): Press to turn on/off backlight. Hold to power on/off the device, lock buttons, or access controls menu.
  • MENU-UP (Middle Left): Press to scroll through widgets and data screens. Hold to open the menu.
  • DOWN (Bottom Left): Press to scroll through widgets and data screens.
  • START-STOP (Top Right): Press to start/stop an activity or select an option.
  • BACK-LAP (Bottom Right): Press to return to the previous screen or record a lap during an activity.

3.2. Solar Charging

The tactix Delta Solar Edition features a Power Glass™ solar charging lens. Exposure to direct sunlight extends battery life. The watch face can display solar intensity data, allowing users to monitor charging efficiency.

3.3. Tactical Features

  • Night Vision Mode: This mode reduces backlight intensity to a level compatible with night vision goggles, ensuring discretion in low-light conditions. To activate, access the controls menu (hold LIGHT button) and select the Night Vision icon.

3.4. GPS and Navigation

4. Care and Maintenance

  • Charging Port: Keep the charging contacts clean and dry to prevent corrosion and ensure proper charging.

  • Battery Life: To maximize battery life, ensure regular exposure to sunlight for solar charging. Adjust backlight settings and disable unnecessary features when not in use.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Device Not Turning On: Ensure the device is fully charged. If it still doesn't turn on, try connecting it to a power source and holding the LIGHT button for 15 seconds.
  • GPS Signal Issues: Ensure you are in an open area with a clear view of the sky. Allow several minutes for the device to acquire a satellite signal. Update GPS software via Garmin Express.
  • Pairing Problems: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone and the watch. Try restarting both devices. Remove the device from the Garmin Connect app and your phone's Bluetooth settings, then attempt to pair again.
  • Inaccurate Heart Rate Data: Ensure the watch is worn snugly above your wrist bone. Clean the sensor on the back of the device.
  • Battery Draining Quickly: Check solar intensity widget to ensure adequate solar charging. Reduce backlight brightness, disable Wi-Fi, and turn off features like Pulse Ox if not needed constantly.
