3. Setup
3.1 Battery Installation
The thermometer requires two AAA batteries (included). To install:
- Locate the battery compartment cover at the bottom of the handle.
- Slide the cover open.
- Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Power On/Off
To power on the thermometer, pull the trigger. The device will automatically shut down after 18 seconds of inactivity to conserve power.
4.2 Measurement Modes (Body/Surface)
The thermometer offers two measurement modes: Body Mode and Surface Mode. These modes can be toggled using the "MODE" button.
- Body Mode: For measuring human body temperature.
- Surface Mode: For measuring the temperature of objects, liquids (e.g., baby formula, bathwater), or ambient room temperature.

4.3 Taking a Temperature Reading
- Ensure the forehead is clean and clear of hair, perspiration, caps, or scarves for accurate readings.
- Select the desired measurement mode (Body or Surface) using the "MODE" button.
- Point the thermometer at the forehead or object surface, maintaining a distance of 0.4 to 2 inches (1-5 cm).
- Pull the trigger once. The temperature reading will appear on the LCD screen within 1 second.

4.4 LCD Display and Fever Alarm
The large LCD display features a backlight that changes color based on the measured temperature in Body Mode:
- Green: Normal temperature (95.9-99.1°F / 35.5-37.3°C).
- Yellow: Slight fever (99.3-100.4°F / 37.4-38.0°C).
- Red: High fever (100.6-109.4°F / 38.1-43.0°C).
An abnormal temperature reading will also be accompanied by a warning sound (fever alarm).

4.5 Fahrenheit/Celsius Switching
To switch between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C):
- Press and hold the "SET" button for approximately 3 seconds.
- "F1" will be displayed, and the °C / °F icon will flash.
- While the icon is flashing, press the "MEMO" or "MODE" button to toggle between °C and °F.
- Press "SET" again to confirm your selection and exit the setting.
4.6 Memory Function
The thermometer can store up to 50 previous measurement data sets. This allows for continuous tracking of temperature trends. When the memory is full, the oldest measurement will be replaced by the newest one.
4.7 Silent Mode
The device features a silent mode, which can be activated or deactivated to prevent disturbing sleeping individuals, especially babies. Refer to the full user manual for specific button combinations to enable/disable silent mode.
