4. Setup

Follow these steps for the initial setup of your Illy Y3.3 Espresso Machine.

1. Unboxing: Carefully remove the machine and all packaging materials. Ensure all components are present and undamaged.
2. Placement: Place the machine on a stable, flat surface away from heat sources and direct sunlight. Its compact design (approximately 3.94" W x 11.73" D x 10" H) allows it to fit in tight spaces.
3. Rinse Water Tank: Remove the water tank from the back of the machine. Rinse it thoroughly with fresh water.
4. Fill Water Tank: Fill the water tank with fresh, potable water up to the MAX line. Place it back securely on the machine.

6. First Use Rinse Cycle: Before first use, perform a rinse cycle without a capsule. Place a large cup under the dispenser. Press either the espresso or drip coffee button. The machine will heat up and dispense hot water. Repeat this process 2-3 times to clean the internal system.

5. Operating Instructions

Your Illy Y3.3 machine is designed for simple, one-touch operation for both espresso and drip coffee.

5.1. Brewing Espresso

1. Ensure the water tank is filled and the machine is powered on. The buttons will illuminate when ready.
2. Lift the lever to open the capsule compartment.
3. Insert one Illy IperEspresso capsule into the compartment. Close the lever firmly until it clicks.
4. Place an espresso cup on the adjustable cup holder. Adjust the holder height if necessary.
5. Press the Espresso button (smaller cup icon). The machine will begin brewing.
6. The machine will automatically stop when the programmed volume is reached.

5.2. Brewing Drip Coffee

1. Ensure the water tank is filled and the machine is powered on.
2. Lift the lever to open the capsule compartment.
3. Insert one Illy IperEspresso capsule into the compartment. Close the lever firmly until it clicks.
4. Place a larger coffee mug on the adjustable cup holder.
5. Press the Drip Coffee button (larger cup icon). The machine will begin brewing.
6. The machine will automatically stop when the programmed volume is reached.

6. Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Illy Y3.3 machine.

6.1. Daily Cleaning

• Drip Tray and Used Capsule Container: Empty and rinse the drip tray and the internal used capsule container after each use or at least daily. Wash with warm, soapy water and dry thoroughly.
• Exterior: Wipe down the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Water Tank: Rinse the water tank daily and refill with fresh water.

6.2. Descaling

Descaling is crucial to remove mineral deposits and maintain machine performance. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage. Refer to Illy's official descaling solution instructions for best results.

1. Empty the water tank and used capsule container.
2. Fill the water tank with the descaling solution as per the product instructions.
3. Place a large container under the dispenser.

5. After the descaling solution has run through, rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it with fresh water. Run several rinse cycles with fresh water to remove any descaling residue.
