2. Setup and Initial Use

2.1. Battery Installation and Charging

The iProtec Slyde King RC Flashlight comes with a pre-installed lithium-ion battery. Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the device.

  1. Locate the micro USB charging port on the flashlight. This is typically covered by a protective cap.
  2. Connect the included USB charging cable to the flashlight's micro USB port.
  3. Connect the other end of the USB cable to a standard USB power source (e.g., computer, wall adapter, car charger).
  4. The charging indicator light will illuminate, typically red during charging and green when fully charged.
  5. A full charge takes approximately 3-4 hours.
  6. Once charging is complete, disconnect the cable and ensure the protective cap is securely closed to maintain water resistance.

Note: An image showing the charging port and cable connection would typically be included here.

2.2. Initial Activation

After charging, the flashlight is ready for use. Press the power button to cycle through the main flashlight modes.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1. Power Button Functions

The single power button controls all light modes and functions.

  • Press Once: Activates the main LED flashlight.
  • Subsequent Presses: Cycles through flashlight brightness levels (if dimmable feature is active) or other modes depending on programmable settings.
  • Press and Hold: Typically activates the dimming function or turns off the light from any mode.

3.2. Activating the COB WorkLight

The COB worklight is integrated into the body of the flashlight.

  1. To reveal the COB worklight, simply slide the flashlight body open.
  2. The worklight will automatically turn on when fully extended.
  3. To turn off the worklight, slide the flashlight body closed.

Note: An image demonstrating the sliding mechanism and the illuminated COB worklight would be beneficial here.

3.3. Red Light and Red Flasher

The red light and red flasher modes are useful for preserving night vision or as a hazard signal.

  • Access these modes by cycling through the main power button presses after the flashlight and worklight modes, or through programmable memory settings.
  • The red light provides 40 lumens for 5.5 hours.
  • The red flasher provides 40 lumens for 24 hours.

3.4. Adjustable Zoom

The flashlight features a 4x adjustable zoom to focus the beam.

  • To adjust the zoom, grasp the head of the flashlight and slide it forward or backward.
  • Sliding the head forward typically narrows the beam for a focused spot, while sliding it backward widens the beam for flood illumination.

3.5. Dimmable Beams

All light modes (flashlight, COB worklight, red light) are dimmable.

  • While a light mode is active, press and hold the power button. The light output will gradually dim or brighten.
  • Release the button when the desired brightness level is reached.

3.6. Magnetic Base

The powerful magnetic base allows for hands-free operation by attaching the flashlight to metallic surfaces.

Note: An image showing the magnetic base attached to a metal surface would be helpful here.

3.7. Programmable Memory Settings

The Slyde King RC is equipped with programmable memory settings for each light mode. Specific instructions for programming these settings are typically found in a detailed product insert. Generally, this involves activating a mode, setting the desired brightness, and then performing a specific action (e.g., a quick double-press or a long press) to save the setting.

4. Maintenance

4.1. Cleaning

  • Wipe the flashlight body with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish or internal components.
  • Ensure the charging port cover is closed before cleaning to prevent water ingress.

4.2. Battery Care

  • To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
  • Charge the battery regularly, even if the flashlight is not in frequent use.
  • Store the flashlight in a cool, dry place.

4.3. Storage

When storing the flashlight for extended periods, ensure it is fully charged and stored in a dry environment away from extreme temperatures.
