Safety Instructions

• Always ensure the appliance is placed on a stable, level, and heat-resistant surface.
• Do not immerse the appliance, cord, or plug in water or other liquids.
• Keep the appliance out of reach of children.
• Unplug the coffee maker from the power outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
• Do not operate the appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
• Use only cold, fresh water in the water tank.
• Do not open the filter holder during the brewing cycle.

Setup

1. Unpacking and Initial Cleaning: Remove all packaging materials. Wash the thermal carafe, lid, and filter holder with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.
2. Positioning: Place the coffee maker on a flat, stable surface near a power outlet. Ensure adequate ventilation around the appliance.
3. First Use (Rinsing): Before brewing coffee, run a full cycle with only water to clean the internal components.
   • Fill the water tank with fresh cold water up to the MAX mark.
   • Place an empty filter paper (size 1x4) into the filter holder.
   • Place the thermal carafe with its lid under the filter holder.
   • Press the ON/OFF button to start the cycle.
   • Once the cycle is complete, discard the water and filter paper.

Operating Instructions

1. Fill Water Tank: Open the lid of the water tank and fill it with the desired amount of fresh, cold water. The tank has markings for cups (CP) and liters (L). Do not exceed the MAX level.
2. Insert Filter and Coffee:
   • Open the filter holder and insert a Melitta filter paper (size 1x4).
   • Add the desired amount of ground coffee into the filter. A general guideline is one level tablespoon of coffee per cup (125ml). Adjust to personal preference.
   • Close the filter holder securely.

3. Place Thermal Carafe: Ensure the thermal carafe with its lid is correctly positioned under the filter holder. The insulated stainless steel thermal carafe is designed to maintain coffee temperature for an extended period.
4. Start Brewing: Press the ON/OFF button. The indicator light will illuminate, and the brewing process will begin. The optimal brewing technology ensures consistent coffee quality.
5. AromaControl Function: For brewing smaller quantities of coffee (e.g., 2-4 cups), activate the AromaControl function by pressing the dedicated button. This function optimizes the brewing process to ensure full flavor development even with fewer cups.
6. After Brewing: Once the brewing cycle is complete, the appliance will automatically switch off. The coffee is ready to serve.

Maintenance

Daily Cleaning

• Unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool completely.
• Remove and discard the used filter paper and coffee grounds.
• Wash the thermal carafe, lid, and filter holder with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. These parts are generally dishwasher safe, but refer to the manufacturer's specific instructions.
• Wipe the exterior of the appliance with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.

Descaling

Regular descaling is crucial for maintaining the performance and longevity of your coffee maker, as well as ensuring optimal coffee taste. The Melitta AromaSignature Therm DeLuxe 1007-07 features an integrated descaling program.

1. The descaling indicator light will illuminate when descaling is required.
2. Prepare a descaling solution according to the descaler manufacturer's instructions (e.g., Melitta Anti Calc Liquid).
3. Pour the descaling solution into the water tank up to the MAX mark.
4. Place the empty thermal carafe with its lid under the filter holder.
5. Press and hold the "DESCALE" button for approximately 3 seconds to start the descaling program. The descaling indicator light will flash.
6. The descaling process will run automatically. This may take longer than a regular brewing cycle.
7. Once the descaling program is complete, the descaling indicator light will turn off.
8. Run two full brewing cycles with fresh, cold water only to rinse the appliance thoroughly. Discard the water after each rinse cycle.

Note: The frequency of descaling depends on the hardness of your water and how often you use the coffee maker.
