Schellenberg 16007 Universal Roller Shutter Anti-Lift Security Device

Brand: Schellenberg | Model: 16007

Installation and Operating Instructions

1. Introduction

The Schellenberg 16007 Universal Roller Shutter Anti-Lift Security Device is designed to enhance the security of your roller shutters. It prevents the shutter curtain from being forcibly pushed upwards from the outside, offering protection against unauthorized entry. This device is compatible with manual, electric, and crank-operated roller shutters.

This manual provides essential information for the correct installation, operation, and maintenance of your security device. Please read these instructions carefully before proceeding with installation.

2. Safety Information

  • Always close the roller shutter completely before beginning any installation or maintenance work.
  • Ensure all tools are used safely and correctly.
  • If you are unsure about any step, consult a qualified professional.
  • The device is not suitable for electric drives without limit switches.
  • Do not exceed a shutter curtain weight of 7 kg per anti-lift device.

3. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation of the Schellenberg 16007 Anti-Lift Security Device:

  1. Close the Roller Shutter: Ensure the roller shutter is fully closed before starting the installation process.
  2. Determine Number of Devices: Measure the width of your roller shutter. For widths up to 140 cm, two security devices are sufficient. For every additional 80 cm of width, an extra device is required to ensure smooth operation and effective security.
  3. Measure and Adjust Height: Measure the width of the roller shutter box and the height of the shutter curtain within the box. Determine the appropriate number of links needed. If necessary, adjust the height of the anti-lift device by simply removing superfluous links. Refer to the diagram below for guidance on Mini/Maxi systems and dimensions.

  6. Repeat for All Devices: Proceed in the same manner for all other suspensions. The installation is now complete.
  7. Optional Screwing: It is also possible to screw the security latches onto the roller shutter shaft for added stability. If doing so, ensure the screw does not come into contact with the roller shutter motor.

4. Operating Instructions

Once correctly installed, the Schellenberg 16007 Universal Roller Shutter Anti-Lift Security Device operates automatically. When the roller shutter is fully lowered, the device engages, preventing the shutter from being pushed up from the outside. When the shutter is raised, the device disengages, allowing normal operation.

5. Maintenance

The Schellenberg 16007 Anti-Lift Security Device requires minimal maintenance. Periodically inspect the devices for any signs of wear, damage, or loose connections. Ensure that the links are free from debris and can move smoothly. Clean the devices with a soft, damp cloth if necessary. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Shutter can still be lifted:
    • Check if the devices are correctly installed and securely fastened to both the shutter curtain and the octagonal shaft.
    • Verify that the correct number of devices has been installed for the width of your roller shutter.
    • Ensure the total weight of the shutter curtain does not exceed 7 kg per device.
    • Confirm that the device is compatible with your specific roller shutter system (Mini/Maxi profile).
  • Shutter movement is stiff or noisy:
    • Inspect the devices for any obstructions or misalignment.
    • Ensure the links are not binding and move freely.
    • Check if the height adjustment is correct and no links are causing friction.
