2. Setup

2.1 Unboxing and Initial Inspection

Upon receiving your watch, carefully remove it from its packaging. Inspect the watch for any visible damage. Protective films may be present on the crystal, case back, and strap buckle; gently peel these off before use.

2.2 Setting the Time and Date

  1. Pull out the crown: Gently pull the crown (located at the 3 o'clock position) to the second click position.
  2. Set the time: Rotate the crown to move the hands clockwise until the desired time is displayed. Ensure the AM/PM is correctly set by observing the date change around midnight.
  3. Set the date: Push the crown back to the first click position. Rotate the crown counter-clockwise to adjust the date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 4 AM, as this can damage the movement.
  4. Push in the crown: Once the time and date are set, push the crown back into its normal position against the case to start the watch and ensure water resistance.

3. Operating Your Watch

3.1 Automatic Winding

Your SEIKO Presage SRPE45 is an automatic mechanical watch, meaning it is powered by the natural motion of your wrist. When worn regularly, the watch will self-wind and maintain its power reserve. It features a power reserve of approximately 41 hours.

3.2 Manual Winding

If the watch has stopped or its power reserve is low, you can manually wind it. With the crown in its normal position (not pulled out), rotate it clockwise approximately 20-30 times. This will provide sufficient power to start the watch and build up the power reserve.

3.3 Water Resistance

This watch is water-resistant up to 50 meters (5 bar). This means it is suitable for short periods of recreational swimming, showering, and general daily use. It is not suitable for diving, snorkeling, or high-impact water sports. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

To maintain the appearance of your watch, wipe the case and crystal with a soft, dry cloth regularly. For the leather strap, avoid prolonged exposure to water, direct sunlight, and harsh chemicals. If the strap gets wet, dry it thoroughly with a soft cloth and allow it to air dry completely before wearing.

4.2 Periodic Inspection

It is recommended to have your watch inspected by an authorized SEIKO service center every 2-3 years to ensure optimal performance and maintain water resistance. Gaskets and seals can degrade over time, affecting water resistance.

4.3 Storage

When not wearing your watch for extended periods, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and strong magnetic fields. If the watch stops, simply wind it manually or wear it to restart the movement.

5. Troubleshooting
