5. Setup

5.1. Battery Installation and Charging

The RA26 comes with a 1500mAh Lithium-Ion battery. Ensure it is fully charged before first use.

  1. Connect the provided USB cable to the radio's charging port, located under a protective cover on the side/bottom.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to the USB adaptor and plug it into a power outlet.
  3. The charging indicator light will illuminate during charging.
  4. Once fully charged, disconnect the cable and securely close the protective cover over the charging port to maintain waterproofing.

5.2. Antenna Attachment

Screw the antenna clockwise into the connector on the top of the radio until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Power On/Off and Volume

  • To power on, press and hold the Power ON/OFF button on the side of the radio.
  • To power off, press and hold the Power ON/OFF button again.
  • Adjust the volume using the VOL up/down buttons.

6.2. Channel Selection

Use the channel up/down buttons to select the desired marine channel. Channel 16 is the international distress, safety, and calling channel.

The RA26 can receive NOAA weather alerts to keep you informed of changing weather conditions.

  • Press the WX button to activate the weather channel mode.

  • Scan: Press the SCAN button to scan through programmed channels.

6.5. Vibration Drainage

If water enters the speaker, press the SCAN/DUAL and HI/LO/LOCK buttons simultaneously to activate the vibration drainage function. This helps to clear water and maintain clear audio.
