2. What's in the Box

Upon unboxing your KODAK Mini Shot 3 Retro, please ensure all the following components are present:

  • KODAK Mini Shot 3 Retro Camera
  • Initial Cartridge (8 Sheets)
  • 60 Sheets Cartridge (Bundle Specific)
  • Quick Start Manual
  • Strap

Note: A USB-C charging cable is not included and must be provided by the user.

3. Setup

3.1 Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge the KODAK Mini Shot 3 Retro. Connect a USB-C cable (not included) to the charging port on the device and plug the other end into a compatible USB power adapter. The charging indicator light will provide status updates.

3.2 Installing the Photo Cartridge

The KODAK Mini Shot 3 Retro uses integrated photo paper and ink cartridges. Follow these steps to install a new cartridge:

  1. Open the cartridge cover on the side of the camera.
  2. Insert the new cartridge into the slot, ensuring it is oriented correctly.
  3. Gently push the cartridge in until you hear a "click" sound, indicating it is securely locked in place.
  4. Close the cartridge cover.

3.3 Downloading the KODAK Photo Printer App

To unlock the full potential of your KODAK Mini Shot 3 Retro, including Bluetooth printing and photo editing features, download the official KODAK Photo Printer application. It is available for both Apple iPhone/iPad and Android devices.

  • Search for "KODAK Photo Printer" on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  • Download and install the application on your mobile device.

4. Operating Your Device

4.1 Taking Photos with the Camera

To take a photo:

  1. Power on the camera.
  2. Frame your shot using the LCD screen.
  3. Press the shutter button to capture the image.
  4. After taking a photo, you will have the option to print it directly or cancel. Note that images are not stored on the camera after capture unless printed.

4.2 Printing Photos

4.2.1 Printing from Mobile Device via Bluetooth

The KODAK Mini Shot 3 Retro allows you to print photos directly from your smartphone or tablet:

  1. Ensure your camera is powered on and has a loaded cartridge.
  2. Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device.
  3. Open the KODAK Photo Printer application.
  4. Pair your mobile device with the camera via Bluetooth within the app.
  5. Select the desired photo from your mobile device's gallery within the app.
  6. Utilize the app's editing features (filters, frames, etc.) if desired.
  7. Initiate the print command from the app.

4.3 Superior Photo Quality with 4PASS Technology

The KODAK Mini Shot 3 Retro employs 4PASS (Dye Sublimation Transfer) technology to produce high-quality prints. This method applies yellow, magenta, and cyan dyes sequentially, followed by a protective overcoat layer. This process ensures vibrant colors, sharp details, and a durable finish that protects against fingerprints and water, designed to last over 100 years.

4.4 Photo Types: Bordered and Borderless

You have the option to print photos with or without a border. Bordered prints allow space for notes or dates, while borderless prints maximize the image area on the 3x3 inch photo paper.

4.5 KODAK Photo Printer App Features

The companion app offers various features to enhance your photos before printing:

5. Maintenance

5.1 General Care and Cleaning

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your KODAK Mini Shot 3 Retro, follow these care guidelines:

  • Keep the device clean by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
  • Protect the lens from scratches and dust. Use a lens cleaning cloth if necessary.
  • Avoid dropping the device or subjecting it to strong impacts.

5.2 Cartridge Replacement

When the photo cartridge is empty, the device will indicate that a replacement is needed. Follow the installation steps outlined in Section 3.2 to replace the cartridge. Always use genuine KODAK 3x3 inch cartridges for optimal print quality.

6. Troubleshooting
