Setup Guide
1. Installing NVMe SSDs
- Identify the 'Source' and 'Target' slots on the duplicator.
- Gently insert your M.2 NVMe SSD into the desired slot, ensuring it is fully seated. The device supports M-Key and B&M-Key NVMe SSDs of sizes 2230, 2242, 2260, and 2280.
- If using for cloning, insert the original SSD into the 'Source' slot and the destination SSD into the 'Target' slot.
- Apply the provided thermal silicone pads to the SSDs for optimal heat dissipation, ensuring they make contact with the enclosure.

2. Power Connection
- Connect the provided power adapter to the DC input port on the duplicator.
- Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet. The power indicator light will illuminate.

3. Connecting to a Computer (for Online Use)
- If you intend to use the device as an external SSD enclosure, connect the duplicator to your computer using the provided USB-C to USB-C cable.
- Ensure your computer has a compatible USB-C port for optimal 10Gbps transfer speeds. If your computer only has USB-A ports, a USB-A to USB-C cable (not included) can be used, but speeds may be limited by the USB-A port's capabilities.
Operating Instructions
Offline Cloning (Stand-alone Duplication)
This mode allows you to clone an SSD without connecting the device to a computer.
- Ensure the device is powered off.
- Insert the source M.2 NVMe SSD into the 'Source' slot and the target M.2 NVMe SSD into the 'Target' slot. Important: The target disk capacity must be equal to or larger than the source disk capacity.
- Press and hold the 'START' button for approximately 3-5 seconds until the progress indicator LEDs (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) begin to flash.
- Release the button. The cloning process will begin. The LEDs will indicate the cloning progress.
- Once all four indicator lights (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) are continuously on, the cloning process is complete.
- Power off the device and safely remove the SSDs.
Note on Partitioning: The cloning process duplicates the source drive exactly. If cloning to a larger drive, the clone will not automatically resize or expand the partition to fill the new drive's full capacity. You will need to manually extend the partition using disk management tools on your computer after the cloning is complete.
Online Use (External SSD Enclosure)
This mode allows you to use the device as a high-speed external SSD enclosure.
- Ensure the device is powered off.
- Insert one or two M.2 NVMe SSDs into the 'Source' and/or 'Target' slots.
- Connect the device to your computer using the USB-C cable.
- Power on the device. Your computer should recognize the inserted SSD(s) as external storage devices.
- If a newly cloned target disk is not recognized by your computer, it may be in offline mode. Please manually bring it online using Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (macOS).
Maintenance
Care and Cleaning
- Keep the device clean by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Ensure the device is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
Heat Management
- During intensive operations like cloning or large data transfers, the aluminum enclosure may become warm. This is normal and indicates effective heat dissipation.
- If the device feels excessively hot, power it off and allow it to cool down before handling or further use.
- For prolonged operations, consider operating the device with the top cover removed to enhance airflow and cooling.
Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions
- Issue: Cloning fails or hangs at a certain percentage.
Solution: Ensure the target disk capacity is equal to or larger than the source disk. Also, ensure the target disk is properly formatted before starting the cloning process if using it for the first time. - Issue: Computer does not recognize the target disk after cloning.
Solution: After cloning, the target disk enters offline mode. You need to manually bring it online using Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (macOS). - Issue: Device gets very hot during operation.
Solution: This is normal for NVMe devices due to high-speed data transfer. The aluminum enclosure acts as a heatsink. Ensure proper ventilation around the device. If operating for extended periods, consider removing the top cover to improve airflow. Allow the device to cool down if it becomes excessively hot. - Issue: Cannot clone SATA SSD to NVMe SSD.
Solution: This device only supports NVMe to NVMe cloning. It is not compatible with SATA SSDs. - Issue: Cloning to a larger drive does not expand the partition automatically.
Solution: The cloning process creates an exact copy of the source partition. You will need to manually extend the partition using your operating system's disk management tools after the cloning is complete. - Issue: Device not recognized by computer when used as an external enclosure.
Solution: Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the device and the computer. Verify the power adapter is connected and the device is powered on. Try a different USB port or cable.
