Troubleshooting
- Sharpener Not Turning On:
- Check if the batteries are installed correctly with the right polarity.
- Replace old batteries with new AA batteries.
- Ensure the shavings canister is securely closed. The sharpener may have a safety mechanism that prevents operation if the canister is open or improperly seated.
- Pencil Not Sharpening or Uneven Sharpening:
- Ensure the pencil is inserted straight into the sharpening hole.
- Check if the shavings reservoir is full and empty it if necessary. A full reservoir can obstruct the sharpening mechanism.
- Inspect the blades for any debris or damage. If damaged, the unit may require replacement.
- Pencil Lead Breaking Frequently:
- Avoid applying excessive pressure when sharpening. The auto-stop feature works best with light pressure.
- Ensure you are using standard graphite or colored pencils. Avoid sharpening crayons or other soft materials not intended for this sharpener.
