Setup and Installation
Unpacking the Cash Drawer:
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure the following items are present:
- APG VB554A-BL1616 Vasario Series standard-duty painted-front cash drawer
- 6' USB A/B cable
- Keys for the electronic lock

Connecting the Cash Drawer:
- Positioning: Place the cash drawer on a stable, flat surface near your point-of-sale (POS) system or computer.
- USB Connection: Connect the provided 6' USB A/B cable to the USBPro II port on the cash drawer and to an available USB port on your host computer or USB hub.
- Power: The cash drawer is typically powered via the USB connection. No separate power adapter is usually required for standard operation.
- Driver Installation (if necessary): In most cases, the USBPro II interface is a USB Human Interface Device (HID) class end node, which means it is compatible with all operating systems and typically does not require specific driver installation. If prompted by your operating system, follow the on-screen instructions for driver installation.

Operating the Cash Drawer
Opening the Drawer:
- Electronic Release: The cash drawer is primarily designed for electronic release via your POS software or system. When a transaction is completed and configured to open the drawer, it will automatically pop open.
- Manual Key Release: In case of power failure or system malfunction, the cash drawer can be opened manually using the provided keys. Insert the key into the lock cylinder on the front of the drawer and turn it to release the latch.
- Push-Button Operation: Some models may support a push-button operation for manual opening. Refer to your specific POS system's configuration for this feature.
Organizing Currency:
The plastic till is designed with five bill compartments and five coin compartments to help organize various denominations of currency.

Using Media Slots:
Two slots are located on the front of the cash drawer, allowing for the insertion of checks, credit card receipts, or other transaction media without opening the main drawer.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly wipe the exterior of the cash drawer with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Internal Cleaning: Periodically remove the till and clean any dust or debris from the inside of the drawer. Ensure no foreign objects obstruct the drawer's movement.
- Lubrication: The drawer slides are designed for long-term, maintenance-free operation. Avoid applying lubricants unless specifically instructed by APG support.
- Key Care: Keep the keys in a safe place. Do not force the key if it feels stiff; ensure it is fully inserted and aligned.
