Setup

Follow these steps to set up your power supply:

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the power supply from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage.
2. Placement: Place the power supply on a stable, flat surface with adequate ventilation. Ensure that the cooling fan at the rear is not obstructed.
3. AC Power Connection: Connect the provided US power cord to the AC input socket on the rear of the power supply. Plug the other end into a standard 110V AC wall outlet.
4. DC Device Connection:
   Screw-Type Connection Terminals: For devices requiring direct wire connections, use the red (+) and black (-) screw terminals on the rear of the unit. Ensure wires are securely fastened.
   Cigarette Lighter Socket: For devices with a cigarette lighter plug (e.g., car accessories, mobile phone chargers), insert the plug into the front-facing cigarette lighter socket. This socket supports up to 10A.

Operating Instructions

Once the unit is set up, follow these instructions for operation:

1. Power On/Off: Locate the 'POWER' switch on the front panel. Flip it to the 'ON' position to power on the unit. The green indicator light will illuminate. Flip to 'OFF' to power down.
2. Meter Display: The front panel features an analog meter. Use the 'METER' switch to toggle between displaying output voltage (V) and output current (A).
3. Noise Offset Control: If you experience pulse noise from the power supply when powering radio equipment, adjust the 'NOISE OFFSET' knob. This control helps eliminate such interference, providing a cleaner signal for communication systems.
4. Using the Cigarette Lighter Socket: The front-facing cigarette lighter socket provides a convenient way to power portable devices or charge electronic devices like phones and earphones. Ensure the connected device does not exceed 10A.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your power supply:

• Cooling Fan: The built-in cooling fan operates automatically when the internal temperature reaches 55°C to prevent overheating. Ensure the fan vents are clear of dust and obstructions.
• Fuse Replacement: The unit includes a user-replaceable 8A fuse for protection. If the unit fails to power on, check and replace the fuse if necessary. Always replace with a fuse of the same rating.
• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the unit. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.

Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter:

• Unit Does Not Power On:
  - Check if the power cord is securely plugged into both the unit and the wall outlet.
  - Verify that the wall outlet has power.
  - Inspect the 8A fuse on the rear panel. If blown, replace it with a new fuse of the same rating.
• No Output Voltage/Current:
  - Ensure the power switch is in the 'ON' position.
  - Check all DC connections for proper polarity and secure contact.
  - The unit has built-in short-circuit and over-current protection. If a short circuit occurs, the unit will be protected. Turn off the unit, repair the cause of the short circuit, and then turn it back on.
• Noise in Radio Equipment:
  - Adjust the 'NOISE OFFSET' knob on the front panel. This control is specifically designed to eliminate pulse noise from the power supply that may affect communication systems.
• Unit Feels Hot:
  - The cooling fan will automatically activate when the internal temperature reaches 55°C. Ensure the fan vents are not blocked and there is sufficient airflow around the unit. Continuous high load operation can cause the unit to warm up, which is normal as long as the fan is operating.
