Giro Grid Spherical MIPS Ski Helmet
Instruction Manual
Introduction
The Giro Grid Spherical MIPS Ski Helmet is engineered for lightweight performance and enhanced protection, suitable for both skiing and snowboarding. This helmet integrates advanced safety features and comfort technologies to support your mountain adventures.
Safety Information
This helmet is equipped with MIPS Spherical Technology, an advanced system designed to reduce rotational forces that can result from certain impacts. It features two layers of EPS foam that rotate independently during an impact, providing an additional layer of protection.

Always ensure your helmet is properly fitted and secured before use. Inspect the helmet for any damage before each use. If the helmet sustains an impact, it should be replaced immediately, even if visible damage is not apparent.
Setup
1. Fitting the Helmet
The Giro Grid helmet features the In Form™ 2 Fit System for a customizable and secure fit. To adjust the fit:
- Place the helmet on your head, ensuring it sits level and covers your forehead.
- Locate the dial at the back of the helmet. Turn the dial clockwise to tighten the fit or counter-clockwise to loosen it until the helmet feels snug but comfortable, without excessive pressure points.
- Shake your head gently. The helmet should not shift significantly.
2. Adjusting the Chin Strap
The helmet is equipped with a Fidlock buckle for easy and secure fastening.
- Fasten the Fidlock buckle under your chin. The magnetic closure will securely click into place.
- Adjust the strap length so that it is snug under your chin, allowing for two fingers to fit comfortably between the strap and your chin.
- Ensure the strap dividers are positioned just below your ears.
3. Goggle Compatibility
The Giro Grid helmet is designed for seamless compatibility with Giro goggles. The helmet's shape and goggle strap retainer ensure a secure fit and prevent goggle gap.

Operating Features
1. Ventilation Control
The helmet features Thermostat Control™ adjustable venting and Stack Vent technology to manage airflow and temperature. Locate the slider on the top of the helmet to open or close the vents, allowing you to regulate warmth and prevent goggle fogging based on conditions and activity level.
2. Interior Comfort
- Polartec Power Grid Padding: The interior padding is made with Polartec Power Grid fabric, which offers excellent moisture-wicking properties and breathability to keep you comfortable and dry.
- Removable Ear Pads: The ear pads can be removed for warmer conditions or for cleaning.
- Audio Compatibility: The helmet is designed to be compatible with Giro audio systems by Outdoor Tech (sold separately), allowing for seamless integration of communication or music.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning the Helmet
- Use a soft cloth, mild soap, and water to clean the exterior of the helmet. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- The interior padding and ear pads can be gently hand-washed with mild soap and water, then air-dried. Ensure they are completely dry before reattaching them to the helmet.
- Do not submerge the entire helmet in water.
2. Storage
Store the helmet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Avoid placing heavy objects on the helmet, as this can cause damage.
3. Inspection
Regularly inspect the helmet for any signs of wear or damage, including cracks in the shell, frayed straps, or compromised padding. If any damage is found, discontinue use and replace the helmet.
Troubleshooting
- Helmet feels loose: Re-adjust the In Form™ 2 Fit System dial and chin strap for a snug fit.
- Goggles fogging: Ensure the Stack Vent and Thermostat Control™ vents are open to allow for proper airflow. Check goggle fit and compatibility.
- Discomfort: Ensure the helmet is correctly sized and adjusted. If discomfort persists, consult a retailer or Giro support.
