2. Safety Instructions
Always observe general safety regulations when operating power tools. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.
2.1 General Safety Warnings
- Work Area Safety: Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
- Electrical Safety: Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces.
- Personal Safety: Always wear eye protection, hearing protection, and appropriate work clothing. Do not overreach. Maintain proper footing and balance at all times.
- Tool Use and Care: Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools.
2.2 Specific Bandsaw Safety
- Ensure the workpiece is securely clamped before cutting.
- Never attempt to cut materials that exceed the saw's capacity.
- Always use sharp and undamaged saw blades.
- Keep hands clear of the cutting area and the moving blade.
- Allow the blade to reach full speed before starting a cut.
- Do not operate the bandsaw without all guards in place.

5. Setup
5.1 Assembling the Stationary Work Table
- Place the main bandsaw unit onto the designated mounting points on the work table.
- Secure the bandsaw to the table using the provided fasteners. Ensure all connections are tight.
- Adjust the clamping vice on the work table to accommodate your workpiece.
5.2 Installing/Changing the Saw Blade
- Ensure the tool is unplugged from the power source.
- Open the blade guard covers.
- Carefully remove the old blade if present.
- Position the new blade around the wheels, ensuring the teeth are pointing in the correct cutting direction.
- Adjust the blade tension according to the manufacturer's guidelines (refer to the tensioning mechanism, typically a lever or knob).
- Close the blade guard covers securely.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 General Operation
- Connect the bandsaw to a suitable power supply (230 V, 50 Hz).
- Select the appropriate band speed for the material being cut. The MBS 1100 offers variable speed up to 2.4 m/s (144 m/min).
- Ensure the workpiece is stable and properly supported.
- Activate the LED work light for improved visibility.
6.2 Stationary Use (with Work Table)
- Secure the workpiece firmly in the clamping vice on the work table.
- Adjust the cutting angle (90° or 40°) as required.
- Lower the saw blade slowly and steadily through the material. Do not apply excessive force; let the blade do the work.
- Once the cut is complete, allow the blade to stop before removing the workpiece.
6.3 Mobile Use (Handheld)
- Ensure the bandsaw is detached from the work table.
- Hold the bandsaw firmly with both hands using the ergonomic handles.
- Position the blade against the marked cutting line on the workpiece.
- Start the saw and allow the blade to reach full speed.
- Guide the saw smoothly through the material, maintaining control and a steady feed rate.
- The integrated LED light will illuminate the cutting area.
7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your bandsaw.
7.1 Cleaning
- Disconnect the power supply before cleaning.
- Remove dust and debris from the motor vents and blade area using a brush or compressed air.
- Wipe down external surfaces with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals.
7.2 Blade Care
- Inspect saw blades regularly for wear, damage, or dullness. Replace damaged or dull blades immediately.
- Ensure correct blade tension. Incorrect tension can lead to blade breakage or inaccurate cuts.
7.3 Storage
- Store the bandsaw in a dry, secure location, out of reach of children.
- If storing for extended periods, consider applying a light coat of oil to metal parts to prevent rust.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Saw does not start | No power supply; faulty switch; motor overload | Check power connection; contact service center; allow motor to cool |
| Blade breaks frequently | Incorrect blade tension; wrong blade type for material; excessive force | Adjust blade tension; use correct blade; reduce feed pressure |
| Inaccurate cuts | Loose workpiece; dull blade; incorrect angle setting | Secure workpiece; replace blade; verify angle settings |
| Excessive vibration | Loose components; unbalanced blade; worn bearings | Check all fasteners; replace blade; contact service center |
