4. Setup Guide

4.1 Connecting the Microscope

Connect the USB cable of the Supereyes microscope to an available USB 2.0 port on your computer. The device is plug-and-play for most operating systems.

4.2 Software Installation

The required software depends on your operating system:

  • For Windows (10/8/7/Vista/XP/2000): Insert the included CD and install the "Supereyes Software". This software provides measurement and calibration functions.
  • For Mac OS (10.5 or above): No driver or additional software is needed. Simply use built-in applications such as Photo Booth, FaceTime, or QuickTime to open and view the device feed.
  • For Linux: Use any standard web camera software to open the device.

Note: The measurement function is only available on Windows-based operating systems with the Supereyes Software.

4.3 Using the Tripod

Attach the microscope to the included tripod for stable viewing, especially when examining stationary objects or requiring precise positioning.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Adjusting Magnification and Focus

The Supereyes B007 offers a continuous zoom capability from 1x to 300x. To adjust the magnification and focus:

  1. Position the microscope over the object you wish to examine. The optimal object distance is from 0 mm to infinity.
  2. Rotate the focus wheel on the microscope body to achieve a clear image. This is a manual focus system.
  3. Adjust the distance between the microscope lens and the object to change the magnification level.

5.2 LED Illumination

The microscope is equipped with adjustable LED lights to provide clear illumination, even in dark environments. Locate the control wheel on the microscope body to adjust the brightness of the LEDs. You can also turn off the lights if not needed.

5.3 Capturing Images and Videos

You can capture still images and record videos using the software on your computer:

  • Still Image Capture: Use the snapshot function within the Supereyes Software (Windows) or your chosen Mac/Linux application. Maximum resolution for still images is 1600 x 1200 pixels (JPEG format).
  • Video Capture: Record video through the software. Maximum resolution for video capture is 1600 x 1200 pixels (WMV format). The display speed is a maximum of 30 frames per second.

5.4 Smartphone Connectivity (Optional)

To connect the microscope to iOS or Android smartphones, a high-speed WiFi Box (sold separately) is required. Refer to the WiFi Box's manual for specific connection instructions.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the microscope body. For the lens, use a lens cleaning cloth and solution specifically designed for optical devices. Avoid abrasive materials.
  • Storage: Store the microscope in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and dust. Use the original packaging or a protective case when not in use.
  • Waterproof Camera Head: The IP67 waterproof camera head can be used in wet environments. After use in water, ensure it is dried thoroughly before storage.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Image/Device Not Recognized:
    • Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the microscope and the computer.
    • Try a different USB port on your computer.
    • Restart your computer.
    • For Windows, ensure the Supereyes Software is correctly installed. For Mac, confirm you are using Photo Booth, FaceTime, or QuickTime. For Linux, verify your webcam software is configured correctly.
  • Image is Blurry/Pixelated:
    • Adjust the focus wheel on the microscope body until the image is clear.
    • Vary the distance between the microscope lens and the object. The optimal object distance is 0 mm to infinity.
    • Ensure the lens is clean and free of dust or smudges.
    • Check the resolution settings within your viewing software. Higher resolutions (e.g., 1600x1200) will provide more detail.
  • LED Lights Not Working:
    • Rotate the LED control wheel on the microscope body to increase brightness.
    • Ensure the microscope is properly connected and receiving power via USB.
