6. Maintenance and Care
Proper care will ensure the longevity and appearance of your Ruvati gunmetal black stainless steel sink.
6.1 Daily Cleaning
- After each use, rinse the sink thoroughly with water to remove any food particles or residue.
- Wipe the sink dry with a soft cloth to prevent water spots, especially in hard water areas.
- For general cleaning, use a mild dish soap and a soft sponge or cloth.
6.2 Caring for the Gunmetal Black Finish
The innovative Nano-PVD finish is highly durable, but certain precautions should be taken:
- Avoid Abrasives: Do not use abrasive cleaners, steel wool, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals (e.g., bleach, ammonia-based cleaners) as these can damage the finish.
- Gentle Cleaners: Stick to non-abrasive, pH-neutral cleaners specifically designed for stainless steel or PVD finishes.
- Prevent Scratches: While resistant, heavy impacts or sharp objects can still scratch the surface. Use the included bottom grid to minimize direct contact with heavy items.
- Water Spots: To minimize water spots, wipe the sink dry after each use. For stubborn spots, a solution of vinegar and water can be used, followed by a thorough rinse and dry.
6.3 Sound Dampening
The sink features heavy-duty thick rubber padding and soundproof coating to minimize noise and reduce condensation. No special maintenance is required for this feature.

7. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your kitchen sink.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Slow Drainage | Food particles in strainer or P-trap, clogged plumbing. | Clear the strainer. Check and clean the P-trap. If problem persists, consult a plumber. |
| Water Spots/Stains | Hard water residue, mineral deposits. | Wipe sink dry after each use. Use a vinegar and water solution for stubborn spots, then rinse and dry. |
| Minor Scratches | Abrasion from utensils or heavy objects. | While the PVD finish is resistant, minor scratches can occur. Use the bottom grid to prevent direct contact. For very minor surface marks, specialized stainless steel scratch repair kits may be used with caution on the PVD finish, always test in an inconspicuous area first. |
| Sink Leaks | Improperly sealed drain assembly or mounting. | Check all plumbing connections and sealant around the sink rim and drain. Tighten connections if loose. Reapply sealant if necessary. Consult a plumber if unable to resolve. |
