1. Introduction and Overview

The VIOFO A129 Plus is a high-performance dash camera designed to record your journeys in exceptional detail. Featuring 2K 1440P resolution at 60 frames per second, it captures clear video footage, including license plates and road signs. Equipped with built-in GPS and Wi-Fi, it offers advanced functionalities such as location tracking, speed logging, and seamless connectivity with the VIOFO mobile application. Its robust design includes a super capacitor for enhanced durability in varying temperatures and multiple parking mode solutions for continuous vehicle surveillance.

3. Product Features

• 3 Parking Mode Solutions: Choose from Auto Event Detection (records upon impact/motion), Time Lapse (continuous low-frame recording), or Low Bitrate (continuous recording in small file sizes). An optional HK3 hardwire kit is required for parking modes.

4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to properly set up and install your VIOFO A129 Plus Dash Cam:

1. Prepare the Windshield: Clean the area on your windshield where you intend to mount the dash cam. Ensure it is free of dust and grease for optimal adhesive adhesion.
2. Apply Static Stickers: Place one static (windshield) sticker on the cleaned area. This helps protect your windshield and makes removal easier.
3. Attach GPS Module: Peel off the protective film from the 3M adhesive on the GPS module. Firmly press the GPS module onto the static sticker on your windshield.
4. Mount the Front Camera: Slide the front camera onto the mounted GPS module until it clicks securely into place. Ensure the camera lens has a clear view of the road.
5. Insert MicroSD Card: Insert a compatible microSD card (up to 256GB, not included) into the designated slot on the side of the camera.
6. Connect Power: Connect the Mini USB Data Cable to the dash cam and the Car Charger. Plug the Car Charger into your vehicle's 12V power outlet.
7. Route Cables: Use the trim removal tool to neatly tuck the power cable along the edges of your windshield and dashboard to conceal it and prevent obstruction.
8. Adjust Camera Angle: Power on the dash cam and adjust the lens angle to ensure it captures the desired field of view. You can use the live view feature on the VIOFO app for precise adjustment.

5. Operating Instructions

Familiarize yourself with the dash cam's controls and functions for optimal use:

Button Functions:

• Power Button (Leftmost): Long press to power on/off. Short press to take a photo while recording.
• REC Button (Left Arrow): Click once to stop recording. In menu, acts as 'Menu Up'.
• Emergency Recording Button (Triangle): Click once to lock the current video file, preventing it from being overwritten. In menu, acts as 'OK/Confirm'.
• MIC Button (Right Arrow): Click once to enable/disable audio recording. Long press to enable/disable parking mode. In menu, acts as 'Menu Down'.
• Wi-Fi Button (Rightmost): Long press to enable/disable Wi-Fi. Click once to change live video source (if multiple cameras are connected).

Basic Operation:

• Auto Start/Stop: The dash cam will automatically power on and begin recording when your vehicle starts, and power off when the engine is turned off.
• Loop Recording: Footage is recorded in continuous loops. When the microSD card is full, the oldest unlocked files are overwritten.
• G-Sensor: Detects sudden impacts or rapid acceleration/deceleration. When triggered, it automatically locks the current video segment to prevent it from being overwritten.

VIOFO Mobile App:

Download the VIOFO app from your smartphone's app store. Connect to the dash cam's Wi-Fi network (SSID and password displayed on the dash cam screen when Wi-Fi is enabled) to:

• View live video feed.
• Download recorded videos to your phone.
• Adjust dash cam settings (resolution, loop recording, G-sensor sensitivity, etc.).

6. Parking Mode Solutions

The VIOFO A129 Plus offers three intelligent parking modes to protect your vehicle while parked. An optional HK3 hardwire kit (not included) is required to enable these features.

• Auto Event Detection: The dash cam will automatically start recording when it detects motion or an impact while parked.
• Time Lapse Recording: Continuously records video at a low frame rate (e.g., 1/2/3/5/10/15 frames per second), compressing hours of footage into minutes.
• Low Bitrate Recording: Records continuously in parking mode with a reduced video quality to save storage space, allowing for longer recording times.

7. Maintenance

MicroSD Card:

• Formatting: Regularly format your microSD card (at least once a month) within the dash cam's settings to ensure optimal performance and prevent data corruption.
• Recommended Cards: Use VIOFO industrial high endurance microSD cards (64GB/128GB/256GB) for best compatibility and longevity, as they are optimized for dash cam recording.
• Replacement: Replace your microSD card periodically, especially if you notice recording errors or performance degradation, as continuous overwriting can wear out the card.

Cleaning:

• Lens: Gently clean the camera lens with a soft, lint-free cloth to ensure clear video quality. Avoid abrasive materials.
• Windshield: Keep the area of the windshield where the dash cam is mounted clean to prevent obstruction of the camera's view.

8. Troubleshooting

• Dash Cam Not Powering On: Ensure the car charger is properly connected to both the dash cam and the vehicle's 12V power outlet. Check the vehicle's fuse for the power outlet.
• Recording Errors: Format the microSD card within the dash cam settings. If errors persist, try a different, high-endurance microSD card.
• Wi-Fi Connection Issues: Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled on the dash cam (long press the Wi-Fi button). Try restarting both the dash cam and your smartphone.
• Overheating: In extremely hot climates, dash cams can sometimes overheat. Ensure the dash cam is mounted in a shaded area if possible, or consider using a heat-resistant mount.
• GPS Not Working: Ensure the GPS module is securely attached and has a clear view of the sky. Check GPS settings in the menu.
