4. Setup and Operating Instructions
4.1 Connecting the Test Hook Clip
- Ensure your multimeter or testing instrument is turned off before making any connections.
- Insert the 4mm banana plug of your test lead into the banana socket at the base of the ZB-T15 Flexible Test Hook Clip. Ensure a firm connection.
- Connect the other end of your test leads to the appropriate input terminals on your multimeter (e.g., COM and VΩmA).
4.2 Using the Test Hook Clip
- With your testing instrument set to the desired measurement function (e.g., voltage, resistance), carefully approach the test point.
- Press the plunger on the ZB-T15 clip to extend the hook.
- Position the hook around the component lead or test point. Release the plunger to allow the hook to retract and securely grip the test point.
- The flexible head allows you to bend the probe to access difficult angles.
- Once a secure connection is made, observe the reading on your testing instrument.
- After measurement, press the plunger again to release the hook from the test point.

5. Safety Information
- Always ensure the test hook clips are properly insulated and free from damage before use.
- Do not exceed the maximum voltage (1000V) or current (10A) ratings.
- Always connect the common (black) lead first and disconnect it last.
- Avoid touching exposed metal parts of the test hook or circuit during live measurements.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with electrical circuits.
- Refer to your multimeter's instruction manual for specific safety guidelines.
6. Maintenance
- Clean the test hook clips with a soft, dry cloth after each use. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Inspect the insulation and the hook mechanism regularly for any signs of wear, cracks, or damage. Replace immediately if damage is found.
- Store the test hook clips in a clean, dry environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Reading on Multimeter:
- Ensure the test hook clips are securely connected to the test leads and the multimeter.
- Verify that the test hook is making good contact with the test point.
- Check the multimeter settings (function, range) are appropriate for the measurement.
- Hook Not Extending/Retracting Smoothly:
- Inspect for any debris or foreign objects obstructing the mechanism.
- If the mechanism is stiff, a small amount of dry lubricant might be applied carefully, avoiding contact with electrical parts.
