- Do not use with non-dimmable bulbs.
- Ensure the total wattage of connected bulbs does not exceed the dimmer's maximum load capacity (150W for LED/CFL, 600W for incandescent/halogen).
- Only one dimmer switch can be installed in a 3-way circuit.
- Do not use to control fans or motor-driven appliances.
Setup and Installation
1. Wiring Instructions
The BESTTEN Dimmer Light Switch supports both single-pole and 3-way wiring configurations. No neutral wire is required for installation.

Image: Wiring diagram for single-pole and 3-way installations. For single-pole, cover the unused traveler wire with a wire nut. For 3-way, connect the two red traveler wires to the dimmer's traveler terminals, and the black line/load wire to the black terminal. The green wire is for ground.
Changing from a Standard 3-Way Switch:
When replacing an existing 3-way switch, take a picture of the original wiring for future reference. Note that two of the terminals on the old switch are typically the same color (traveler wires). These two wires will connect to the two red wires on your new dimmer. The third terminal on the old switch (line or load) will connect to the black wire on your new dimmer. Ensure the green or bare copper ground wire is connected to the green wire on your new dimmer.
2. No Neutral Wire Required
This dimmer is ideal for older electrical systems that may not have a neutral wire, simplifying installation and adding lighting flexibility without extensive rewiring.

3. Product Dimensions
Ensure your electrical box has sufficient depth for the dimmer switch. The dimmer requires a depth clearance of at least 2 inches.

4. Universal Compatibility
The dimmer switch is compatible with a wide range of dimmable bulbs. Refer to the table below for wattage capacities.

Operating Instructions
1. Basic Operation
The dimmer switch features a rocker switch for turning lights ON/OFF and a horizontal slider for adjusting brightness. Simply press the rocker switch to toggle power, and move the slider up or down to dim or brighten the lights.

2. Memory Function
The dimmer switch includes a memory function. When you turn the lights off and then back on using the rocker switch, they will return to the last dimmed light level set by the slider.
3. Dimming Range Setting (Flicker Elimination)
To optimize performance and eliminate flickering, adjust the sensitivity dial located on the side of the dimmer switch. This is crucial for achieving the desired lowest light level without flicker.

Image: Instructions for adjusting the sensitivity dial to set the dimming range and eliminate flicker.
- Turn on the switch and move the slide dimmer to the lowest (leftmost) setting.
- Rotate (counter-clockwise) the Sensitivity Dial all the way up. NOTE: If the dial stops in either direction, do not continue to turn it.
- Rotate (clockwise) the Sensitivity Dial down slowly until the preferred lowest light level is achieved and the lights are not flickering.

Maintenance
To clean the dimmer switch, gently wipe the surface with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the finish or internal components. Ensure the power is off before cleaning.
Troubleshooting
Flickering, Hum, or Buzzing Issues:
If your bulbs do not dim to your satisfaction, or if you experience hum, buzz, or flicker, the bulbs may not be fully compatible with this dimmer, or the dimming range may need adjustment.

Recommended Action:
- Adjust Dimming Range: Follow the steps in the "Dimming Range Setting" section above to fine-tune the sensitivity dial. This is the most common solution for flickering.
- Check Bulb Compatibility: Ensure you are using high-quality, brand-name dimmable LED, CFL, incandescent, or halogen bulbs. Some non-dimmable or low-quality dimmable bulbs may not perform optimally.
- Verify Wattage: Confirm that the total wattage of your bulbs does not exceed the dimmer's maximum load capacity.
