5. Installation

These lights are designed for surface mounting and downlight installation. A 9-15V low voltage transformer (not included) is required.

  1. Plan Layout: Determine the desired locations for each deck light on your deck, stairs, or railing posts. Ensure the locations allow for proper wiring back to your low voltage transformer.
  2. Prepare Mounting Surface: For each light, mark the two screw points and a central point for the wire lead. Drill pilot holes for the screws and a larger hole for the wire lead if routing the wire through the mounting surface.
  3. Mount Fixture Base: Place one metal washer and one rubber gasket at the bottom into each screw hole of the fixture. Hold the fixture in the correct direction (with the light opening facing downwards for downlight installation). Lead the pre-wired lead through the wireway hole if necessary. Secure the fixture to the surface using the provided screws and expansion anchors.
  4. Connect Wiring: Connect the pre-wired lead from each light to your main low voltage cable using the provided waterproof wire nuts. Ensure all connections are tight and secure. Maintain proper polarity if your system requires it.
  5. Connect to Transformer: Connect the main low voltage cable to your 9-15V AC/DC low voltage transformer (sold separately). Ensure the transformer is rated for the total wattage of all connected lights.
  6. Test System: Once all connections are made, turn on the low voltage transformer to test the lights.
