Setup

Battery Installation

The Care Touch Infrared Gun Thermometer is battery-powered. To install or replace batteries:

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover, usually on the handle.
  2. Slide or open the cover according to the indicator.
  3. Insert the required batteries (e.g., 2 x AAA batteries, not included) ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Initial Power On

After battery installation, press the power button to turn on the thermometer. The display will light up, and it will perform a self-check before entering standby mode, ready for measurement.

Operating Instructions

Taking a Body/Forehead Temperature

  1. Ensure the thermometer is in Body/Forehead mode. If not, press the mode button to switch.
  2. Hold the thermometer approximately 1-2 inches (2-5 cm) from the center of the forehead.
  3. Press the measurement button (trigger).
  4. The temperature reading will appear on the display within seconds, accompanied by an audible beep (if not muted).
  5. If a fever is detected, the thermometer will provide an audio and/or visual warning.

Taking a Surface/Object Temperature

  1. Switch the thermometer to Surface/Object mode using the mode button.
  2. Point the thermometer at the surface or object you wish to measure.
  3. Press the measurement button.
  4. The temperature reading of the surface/object will be displayed.

Changing Temperature Units (Celsius/Fahrenheit)

Refer to the specific instructions in your thermometer's packaging for changing between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) units. This is typically done via a dedicated button or a combination of button presses while the device is off or in a specific setting mode.

Memory Function

The Care Touch Infrared Gun Thermometer automatically stores the last 40 temperature readings. To access stored readings:

  1. With the thermometer powered on, press the "MEM" or memory button.
  2. Each press will cycle through the stored readings from most recent to oldest.

Mute Function

To operate the thermometer silently, activate the mute function. This is particularly useful for taking temperatures of sleeping individuals without disturbing them. Consult your device's specific instructions for how to toggle the mute feature on and off, as it typically involves a dedicated mute button or a long press of another button.
