1. Product Overview
This manual provides essential information for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Lifan 125cc Semi-Automatic 4-Stroke Engine. This high-performance engine is designed for various applications, including trail bikes, dirt bikes, trikes, and four-wheelers, serving as a replacement or upgrade for models like CT70, 90, 110, and 125.
The engine features a 1P54FMI designation, a semi-automatic clutch, and a 4-speed transmission (N-1-2-3-4). It comes equipped with standard mounting points for broad compatibility.

2. Setup and Installation
Before installation, carefully review the following:
- Mounting Compatibility: Verify the mounting hole spacing of your vehicle frame against the engine's specifications (154mm mounting hole spacing).
- Shaft Size: The engine features a 20mm shaft size. Ensure compatibility with your existing components.
- Sprocket: The engine includes a 15T 428 chain sprocket.
- Carburetor: The engine is compatible with 22mm or 19mm carburetors (not included).
- Battery: A 12V 4.5Ah-7Ah battery is required for electric start (not included).
Install the engine using the provided intake manifold, kick starter, and gear shift lever. Ensure all connections are secure and properly torqued according to your vehicle's specific requirements.

3. Operating Instructions
Engine Break-in Procedure:
Proper engine break-in is crucial for longevity and performance. Follow these steps:
- Initial Run: Run the engine until it reaches operating temperature, then allow it to cool completely.
- Second Run: For the second run, operate the engine at no more than half throttle. Allow it to cool completely again.
- Subsequent Runs: Continue this process, gradually increasing run time and throttle usage over several cycles. Avoid sustained high RPMs or heavy loads during the break-in period.
This gradual break-in allows internal components to seat properly, ensuring optimal engine life.
4. Maintenance
Oil Requirements:
Always use 4-stroke (4T) engine oil. Refer to the oil bottle for specific viscosity recommendations suitable for your operating climate. Regular oil changes are essential for engine health.
