  1. SD Card Slot: Insert an SD/SDHC card (up to 32GB, not included) for saving scanned images. Ensure gold contacts face up.
  2. TV OUT Port: Connect to a TV using the provided cable to view images on a larger screen.
  3. Mini USB Port: Connect to a computer for data transfer or to the power adapter for power supply.

Setup

  1. Insert SD Card: Insert an SD or SDHC memory card (not included) into the SD card slot on the rear of the scanner. Ensure the gold contacts face upwards. The scanner requires a memory card to save scanned images.
  2. Connect Power: Connect the small end of the USB cable to the Mini USB port on the scanner. Connect the large end of the USB cable to the provided USB power adapter, then plug the adapter into a wall outlet. Alternatively, connect the large end of the USB cable to a powered USB port on a computer.
  3. Power On: Press and hold the Power button for a few seconds until the LCD display illuminates.
  4. Language Setting (First Use): If prompted, use the Left/Mirror and Right/Flip buttons to select your preferred language, then press OK/Enter to confirm.

Operating the Scanner

Preparing Film/Slides

  • For 35mm Slides: Open the slide holder. Insert one slide into the designated slot, ensuring it is correctly oriented. Close the holder securely.
  • For 35mm Film Negatives: Open the negative film holder. Carefully place a strip of negatives into the holder, aligning the frames with the openings. Close the holder securely.
  • Use the cleaning brush to gently remove any dust or debris from your slides or negatives before inserting them into the holder.

Scanning Process

  1. Insert Holder: Gently insert the loaded slide or negative film holder into the film slot on the side of the scanner.
  2. Select Film Type: On the scanner's display, use the Convert/Mode button to select the correct film type (Negative Film or Slide Film).
  3. Adjust Image (Optional):
    • Use Left/Mirror to mirror the image horizontally.
    • Use Right/Flip to flip the image vertically.
    • Access the menu (often by pressing OK/Enter or Convert/Mode again) to adjust exposure compensation or color balance if available. Navigate with Left/Mirror and Right/Flip, confirm with OK/Enter.
  4. Scan Image: Once the image is correctly framed and adjusted on the display, press the OK/Enter button to capture the image. The scanner will save the image to the inserted SD card.
  5. Advance Film: Remove the holder, advance the film/slide to the next frame, and re-insert the holder to scan the next image.

Playback Mode

To view scanned images directly on the scanner's display or a connected TV:

  1. From the main menu, select "Playback" or press the Convert/Mode button until you reach playback mode.
  2. Use the Left/Mirror and Right/Flip buttons to navigate through your saved images.
  3. To delete an image, select it and look for a "Delete" option in the menu, then confirm.

Connecting to a TV

To view your scans on a larger screen:

  1. Ensure the scanner is powered off.
  2. Connect the provided TV-Out cable to the "TV OUT" port on the scanner and the corresponding video input (usually yellow RCA) on your television.
  3. Power on the scanner and select the correct AV input on your TV. The scanner's display content will now be mirrored on your TV.

Connecting to a Computer (Data Transfer)

To transfer scanned images to your computer:

  1. Ensure the scanner is powered on.
  2. Connect the USB cable from the scanner's Mini USB port to a USB port on your computer.
  3. The scanner should appear as a removable disk drive on your computer. You can then access the images stored on the SD card.
  4. Always safely eject the removable disk from your computer before disconnecting the USB cable.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Lens: Use the provided cleaning brush to gently remove dust from the scanner's lens and film slot. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • Cleaning the Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the scanner with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use chemical cleaners.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the scanner in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and dust.

Troubleshooting
