Key Features
- Durable Construction and Drag Power: Crafted with high-end graphite, the Carnivore X Baitfeeder spinning reel is built to handle various fishing techniques. Carbon fiber washers provide up to 26.5 lbs (12.5 kg) of drag power.
- Smooth Gearing and Drag System: A precise cut gearing system ensures smooth operation. Triple premium carbon drag washers offer smooth drag performance during battles with large fish.
- Dual Drag System: Features classic front and rear drag functions. An additional adjustment drag on the main body allows for quick resistance changes. Suitable for both freshwater and saltwater fishing.
- Braid Ready Spool and Spare Spool: The forged and machined aluminum spool is braid-ready, eliminating the need for mono backing. An extra graphite spool is included for versatility.
- Ergonomic Handle: All models are equipped with a large T-shaped rubber handle for improved grip and comfort.

Setup
- Attaching the Handle: Insert the handle into the reel body and tighten securely. The handle is ambidextrous and can be attached to either side.
- Mounting the Reel: Securely attach the reel to your fishing rod's reel seat.
- Spooling Line:
- Open the bail.
- Tie your fishing line to the spool using an appropriate knot.
- Close the bail and begin winding the line onto the spool, ensuring even distribution.
- The aluminum spool is braid-ready; no mono backing is required for braided lines.
- The included graphite spare spool can be used for different line types or as a backup.
Operating Instructions
- Main Drag Adjustment: The main drag knob is located on the front of the spool. Turn clockwise to increase drag tension and counter-clockwise to decrease it. Adjust according to the fish size and line strength.
- Baitfeeder System (Rear Drag):
- To engage the baitfeeder, flip the teaser lever located at the rear of the reel. This allows the spool to rotate freely with minimal resistance, letting fish take the bait without feeling significant drag.
- Adjust the baitfeeder drag tension using the rear drag knob.
- To disengage the baitfeeder and switch to the main drag, turn the handle forward.

- Casting:
- Hold the rod and reel comfortably.
- Open the bail with your non-dominant hand.
- Hold the line against the rod with your dominant hand's index finger.
- Execute your cast.
- Release the line from your finger at the peak of the cast.
- Close the bail manually or by turning the handle to prepare for retrieval.
- Retrieving: Turn the handle to retrieve your line. Ensure the line is winding evenly onto the spool.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: After each use, especially in saltwater, rinse the reel thoroughly with fresh water. Wipe it dry with a soft cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals.
- Lubrication: Periodically apply a small amount of reel grease to the main gears and a drop of reel oil to bearings and moving parts. Refer to a fishing reel maintenance guide for specific lubrication points.
- Storage: Store the reel in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
- Spare Spool: Utilize the spare graphite spool for different line types or as a quick replacement if needed.
Troubleshooting
- Bail Closes During Casts: Ensure the bail is fully open and locked before casting. A partially open bail can snap shut during a powerful cast.
- Drag Not Smooth: Check for debris under the drag washers. Clean and re-lubricate the drag washers if necessary. Ensure the drag knob is not overtightened or too loose.
- Reel Seized or Stiff: This can indicate internal corrosion or debris. Disassemble (if comfortable and knowledgeable) and clean, or seek professional service. Regular cleaning and lubrication can prevent this.
