WARNING: Laser Radiation
This device emits Class 2 laser radiation. Do not stare into the laser beam. Do not aim the laser beam at people or animals. Avoid direct eye exposure. Use of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other than those specified herein may result in hazardous radiation exposure.
- Always ensure the laser is not pointed at reflective surfaces that could redirect the beam into your eyes or others'.

5. Setup
5.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
- Slide the cover open.
- Insert two AAA 1.5V batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
Note: Always use new batteries and replace both batteries at the same time. Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Power On/Off
- To power on: Press the ON / READ button.
- To power off: Press and hold the OFF / Return button for 2 seconds, or the device will automatically shut down after 180 seconds of inactivity.
6.2 Changing Measurement Units
The device supports meters (m), inches (in), and feet (ft) with fractional display. To change units:
- Press the +/- UNIT button repeatedly to cycle through the available units.

6.3 Setting Measurement Reference Point
The measurement can be taken from the front or the rear edge of the device.
- Press the Reference Point / Mute button to toggle between front and rear reference points. An icon on the display will indicate the selected reference point.

6.4 Basic Measurement (Single Distance)
- Ensure the device is powered on.
- Point the laser at the target surface.
- Press the ON / READ button once. The measured distance will be displayed.
6.5 Continuous Measurement (Min/Max)
This mode is useful for finding the shortest or longest distance from a fixed point.
- Press and hold the ON / READ button for 2 seconds. The device will start continuous measurement.
- Slowly sweep the laser across the desired area. The display will show the current, minimum, and maximum measured distances.
- Press the ON / READ button again to stop continuous measurement.
6.6 Area Measurement
- Press the Area/Volume/Pythagorean button once to enter Area measurement mode. A square icon will appear on the display.
- Measure the length: Press ON / READ.
- Measure the width: Press ON / READ.
- The device will automatically calculate and display the area.
6.7 Volume Measurement
- Press the Area/Volume/Pythagorean button twice to enter Volume measurement mode. A cube icon will appear on the display.
- Measure the length: Press ON / READ.
- Measure the width: Press ON / READ.
- Measure the height: Press ON / READ.
- The device will automatically calculate and display the volume.
6.8 Pythagorean Measurement (Indirect Measurement)
This mode allows for indirect measurement of heights or distances using the Pythagorean theorem.

6.8.1 2-Point Pythagorean Measurement (Height)
- Press the Area/Volume/Pythagorean button three times. The display will show a right-angle triangle icon with two sides to be measured.
- Measure the hypotenuse (distance from device to top of object): Press ON / READ.
- Measure the base (distance from device to bottom of object, ensuring the device remains level): Press ON / READ.
- The device will calculate and display the height.
6.8.2 3-Point Pythagorean Measurement (Height)
- Press the Area/Volume/Pythagorean button four times. The display will show a right-angle triangle icon with three sides to be measured.
- Measure the first hypotenuse (distance from device to top of object): Press ON / READ.
- Measure the second hypotenuse (distance from device to middle point of object): Press ON / READ.
- Measure the base (distance from device to bottom of object, ensuring the device remains level): Press ON / READ.
- The device will calculate and display the height.
6.9 Addition and Subtraction
You can add or subtract measurements from each other.
- Perform a measurement.
- Press the +/- UNIT button once for addition (+) or twice for subtraction (-).
- Perform the next measurement.
- The result of the addition or subtraction will be displayed.
6.10 Data Storage and Recall
The device can store up to 20 measurement records.

- Measurements are automatically saved.
- To recall stored data: Press the OFF / Return button repeatedly when not in a measurement mode to cycle through the stored records.
6.11 Mute Function
The mute function allows for silent operation, ideal for quiet environments.

- Press and hold the Reference Point / Mute button for 2 seconds to toggle the sound on/off. A speaker icon with a cross will indicate mute mode.
6.12 Auto-Calibration
The device features an auto-calibration function to maintain accuracy. If you suspect the accuracy is off, you can adjust it.
- While the device is off, press and hold the ON / READ button and the OFF / Return button simultaneously until 'CAL' appears on the screen.
- Use the +/- UNIT button to adjust the calibration value (typically +/- 7 mm).
- Press ON / READ to save the calibration and exit.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the device in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries if storing for extended periods.
- Protection: The device has an IP54 rating, making it dust and splash-water resistant. However, avoid submerging it in water or exposing it to heavy rain.
