Setup
Before First Use
- Unpack the coffee maker and remove all packaging materials.
- Wash the carafe, lid, and reusable filter in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.
- For the first use, fill the water reservoir to the 12-cup mark with clean water. Do not add coffee grounds. Run a full brewing cycle to clean the internal components. Discard the water. Repeat this process once more.
Setting the Clock
- Plug the coffee maker into a standard electrical outlet. The display will flash "12:00".
- Press the HOUR button to set the hour. The time will advance. Note the small dot on the display for PM indication.
- Press the MINUTE button to set the minutes.
- Once the desired time is set, stop pressing the buttons. The clock will set automatically after a few seconds.
Operating Instructions
Brewing Coffee
- Open the top lid of the coffee maker.
- Fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water to the desired number of cups, using the water level indicator on the side. Do not exceed the "MAX 12" line.
- Place the reusable filter into the filter basket.
- Add the desired amount of ground coffee to the reusable filter. A general guideline is one level tablespoon of coffee grounds per cup, but adjust to your personal taste.
- Close the top lid securely.
- Ensure the glass carafe with its lid is properly placed on the warming plate.
- Press the ON/OFF button to start brewing. The indicator light will illuminate.
- The coffee maker features a 30-second anti-drip function, allowing you to briefly remove the carafe to pour a cup before brewing is complete. Return the carafe within 30 seconds to prevent overflow.
- Once brewing is complete, the coffee maker will automatically switch to the "keep warm" function. The appliance will automatically shut off after 120 minutes.
Setting Brew Strength
- Before pressing the ON/OFF button, press the STRENGTH button.
- Each press will cycle through available strength options (e.g., Regular, Strong). Select your preferred strength.
- Proceed with pressing ON/OFF to start brewing with the selected strength.
Using the Delay Brew Function
The Delay Brew function allows you to program the coffee maker to start brewing at a specific time.
- Prepare the coffee maker for brewing as described in "Brewing Coffee" (water, grounds, filter, carafe in place).
- Press the PROGRAM button. The display will flash the current time.
- Use the HOUR and MINUTE buttons to set the desired delayed brew time.
- After setting the time, press the PROGRAM button again to confirm. The indicator light for Delay Brew will illuminate.
- The coffee maker will now automatically start brewing at the programmed time.
Maintenance
Daily Cleaning
- Always unplug the coffee maker before cleaning and allow it to cool completely.
- Remove the reusable filter and discard used coffee grounds. Wash the reusable filter, filter basket, and carafe in warm, soapy water. These parts are also top-rack dishwasher safe.
- Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Wipe the warming plate with a clean, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive materials.
Descaling (Mineral Deposit Removal)
Mineral deposits (calcium) can build up in your coffee maker and affect its performance. Descale your coffee maker every 2-3 months, or more frequently if you have hard water.
- Mix 4 cups of white vinegar with 8 cups of cold water in the carafe.
- Pour the mixture into the water reservoir.
- Place the empty reusable filter and carafe back into position.
- Press the ON/OFF button to start a brewing cycle.
- After about 1 minute, turn the coffee maker off. Let the mixture soak for at least 30 minutes to an hour.
- Turn the coffee maker back on to complete the brewing cycle.
- Discard the vinegar solution.
- Fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water and run two full brewing cycles with only water to rinse out any remaining vinegar taste.
