3. Setup and Assembly
The VOUNOT Electric Weed Burner can be assembled in different configurations depending on the intended use.

Figure 3.1: Detailed assembly steps showing how to attach the extension pole, handle, and various nozzles to the main unit.
3.1. Assembling the Long-Handled Weed Burner:
- Attach the extension pole to the main unit by aligning the connectors and twisting until secure.
- Attach the ergonomic grip handle to the top of the extension pole, ensuring it clicks into place.
- Select the weed burning nozzle and attach it to the front of the main unit.
- Secure the power cable along the extension pole using the provided clips if desired.
3.2. Assembling the Handheld Hot Air Gun:
- Ensure the extension pole and ergonomic handle are detached from the main unit.
- Select the appropriate nozzle for your task (e.g., flat nozzle for paint removal, reduction nozzle for plastic welding) and attach it to the front of the main unit.
Before plugging in the device, always ensure all components are securely attached and the correct nozzle is in place for your intended application.
4. Operating Instructions
The VOUNOT Electric Weed Burner offers three temperature settings and various nozzles for different applications.

Figure 4.1: The three selectable temperature modes: 100°C, 350°C, and 650°C, controlled by a switch on the main unit.
4.1. Temperature Settings:
The device features a switch to select one of three temperature levels:
- Level I: 100°C - Suitable for gentle heating tasks.
- Level II: 350°C - Medium heat for various applications.
- Level III: 650°C - High heat for intensive tasks like weed burning or paint removal.
Allow the device a few moments to reach the selected temperature after switching on.
4.2. Applications:

Figure 4.2: Examples of the device's functions: burning weeds with the long handle, welding plastics with a precision nozzle, and lighting a barbecue with the dedicated nozzle.

Figure 4.3: Additional applications: removing paint from a surface using a flat nozzle and assisting in loosening a rusty nut with a reduction nozzle.
4.2.1. Weed Burning:
- Assemble the device with the long handle and weed burning nozzle.
- Select the highest temperature setting (650°C).
- Plug in the device.
- Direct the hot air stream onto the weeds for a few seconds. The goal is to heat the plant cells, not to burn the plant to ash. The weed will wilt and die within a few days.
- Move slowly and deliberately over the target area.
- Ensure no flammable materials are nearby.
4.2.2. Hot Air Gun Applications (e.g., Paint Removal, Plastic Welding, Rust Removal):
- Assemble the device in handheld mode with the appropriate nozzle (e.g., flat nozzle for paint, reduction nozzle for welding/rust).
- Select the desired temperature setting (350°C or 650°C depending on the material and task).
- Plug in the device.
- Direct the hot air onto the workpiece. For paint removal, heat the paint until it softens and then scrape it off. For plastic welding, heat the plastic until pliable. For rusty nuts, heat the nut to expand it, making it easier to loosen.
- Always work in a well-ventilated area.
4.2.3. Barbecue Lighter:
- Assemble the device in handheld mode with the barbecue lighter nozzle.
- Select a high temperature setting (650°C).
- Plug in the device.
- Direct the hot air onto charcoal or wood until it ignites. Maintain a safe distance.
- Do not use with flammable liquids.
5. Maintenance and Storage
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your device.
- Cleaning: After each use, ensure the device is unplugged and completely cooled. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Nozzle Care: Clean nozzles of any residue after use. Ensure they are free from blockages.
- Cord Inspection: Regularly inspect the power cord for any signs of damage, cuts, or fraying. If damaged, do not use the device and seek professional repair.
- Storage: Store the device in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Ensure it is out of reach of children. Disassemble the long handle for more compact storage if desired.
- Ventilation Openings: Keep the air intake and exhaust vents clear of dust and debris to prevent overheating.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your VOUNOT Electric Weed Burner, refer to the following common problems and solutions.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Device does not turn on. | No power supply; faulty power cord; internal fault. | Check if the device is properly plugged into a working outlet. Inspect the power cord for damage. If the issue persists, contact customer support. |
| Hot air output is weak or temperature is low. | Incorrect temperature setting; blocked air vents; internal heating element issue. | Ensure the correct temperature level (e.g., 650°C for weed burning) is selected. Check and clear any blockages from air intake/exhaust vents. Allow time for the device to reach temperature. If problem continues, contact support. |
| Device overheats and shuts off. | Blocked air vents; prolonged continuous use. | Unplug the device and allow it to cool down completely. Clear any obstructions from the air vents. Avoid continuous operation for excessively long periods. |
| Weeds are not dying effectively. | Insufficient heat exposure; incorrect technique; large, established weeds. | Ensure the highest temperature setting is used. Hold the nozzle over the weed for a few seconds longer. Note that results may take 2-4 days to become fully visible. For large, deeply rooted weeds, multiple applications or alternative methods may be required. |
