5. Setup

5.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, ensure the solar spotlights are placed in direct sunlight for at least 1-2 full days to allow the internal batteries to fully charge. The lights will automatically turn on at dusk and off at dawn.

5.2 Choosing a Location

Select a location that receives maximum direct sunlight throughout the day. Avoid areas shaded by trees, buildings, or other obstructions, as this will reduce charging efficiency and illumination time.

5.3 Installation Options

The Linkind StarRay RGB Solar Spotlights offer two installation methods:

1. Ground Installation: Attach the ground stake to the bottom of the spotlight. Firmly push the assembled unit into soft ground in your desired location.
2. Wall-Mounted Installation: Use the provided wall-mounting hardware (screws and anchors) to secure the spotlight to a vertical surface such as a wall, fence, or gate. Ensure the solar panel can still receive direct sunlight.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Automatic Operation

The spotlights are equipped with a light sensor. After charging, they will automatically turn on at dusk and turn off at dawn.

6.2 Changing Color Modes

Locate the button on the back of the spotlight unit. Press this button to cycle through the available color modes:

• Press once for Red
• Press twice for Orange
• Press three times for Yellow
• Press four times for Green
• Press five times for Blue
• Press six times for Cyan
• Press seven times for Purple
• Press eight times for White
• Press nine times for Auto-Cycling Mode (colors will transition automatically)

The selected mode will be saved until you manually change it again.

• Cleaning: Regularly wipe the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, or debris. A clean panel ensures optimal charging efficiency.
• Placement: Periodically check that the solar panel remains unobstructed and receives adequate direct sunlight. Adjust its position or angle if necessary.
• Winter Care: While IP67 rated, clearing heavy snow accumulation from the solar panel will help maintain charging capability.

8. Troubleshooting

• Lights not turning on:
  • Ensure the solar panel is clean and receiving direct sunlight for at least 8-10 hours.
  • Check if the ambient light sensor is obstructed or if there are other light sources nearby (e.g., streetlights) that might prevent the lights from activating.
  • Verify the power button is pressed to the 'ON' position (if applicable, or cycle through modes to ensure it's active).
• Short illumination time:
  • The solar panel may not be receiving enough direct sunlight. Relocate the unit to a sunnier spot.
  • Battery capacity may be reduced due to prolonged cloudy weather or age. Allow several sunny days for a full charge.
• Inconsistent color changes or modes:
  • Ensure the button is pressed firmly and completely to cycle through modes.
  • If issues persist, allow the unit to fully discharge and then recharge in direct sunlight before attempting to change modes again.
